Jason and Molly: The Wedding

| March 9, 2010 at 10:58 AM EST

Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney’s wedding aired last night on ABC.  After 14 seasons of “The Bachelor” the show finally has its first married couple.

Jason and Molly tied the knot on February 27 in Los Angeles.  The weather couldn’t have been more perfect except that it rained.  The wedding planner didn’t have a backup plan to move everyone indoors so the couple said I do while getting drenched.  But as host Chris Harrison let everyone know, rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck.  Molly’s Uncle officiated the ceremonies.  Despite the rain, the wedding went on as planned and Molly walked down the aisle to American Idol’s Jason Castro singing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.  The couple said personal heartfelt vows (gag) with the bride saying “From the moment I met you, I had butterflies.  You are my strength, my calm.”  How sickingly sweet!  And the groom with his “Everyone knows life can be a rollercoaster, I look forward to sharing all the ups and downs with you.”  Could he possibly be referring to their controversial getting back together drama from last year?

There are several former bachelor/bachelorette couples in attendence for the event.  Trista and Ryan, the couple who met from the bachelor and got married are on hand as well as Deanna Pappas and Stephen Stagliano, Jillian and Ed and the gorgeous Kiptyn.

After the ceremony the couple rush inside to get out of the rain and Chris Harrison has a special surprise for Molly.  Singing “Follow Through” for the couple’s first dance is Gavin DeGraw, Molly’s favorite singer.  How sweet of Chris to set that up. (NOT)

All in all, the couple had their special day and with ABC footing the bill, the sky was the limit and it was a beautiful ceremony.  The couple and their 300 guests danced the night away.

Bachelor Star Jake Pavelka Denies ex Girlfriend Rumors

| March 9, 2010 at 9:16 AM EST

Jake Pavelka, reality star from “The Bachelor” has denied rumors he tried to get back together with an ex girlfriend the day after he got engaged to Vienna Girardi.

Tanya Douglas, Jake’s ex, has spoken out and claims the recently engaged bachelor came to see her and told her he loved her and wanted to get back together.  A claim which Jake vehemently denies.  “The relationship with [the woman] was prior to The Bachelor, it simply did not work out,” Pavelka told Entertainment Tonight in a Thursday report.

Jake and Vienna attended an Oscar party over the weekend where Vienna was reportedly in a terrible mood and wouldn’t even speak to well wishers who congratulated the couple on their engagement.  Trouble in paradise or a play for continued media coverage of the couple?

As Jake gets ready for his new role on “Dancing With the Stars” one can’t help but wonder what Vienna will think while watching her man and the flirtatious Chelsie Hightower dance the night away in front of millions of people.  Vienna strikes me as the very jealous type so could DWTS be the venue of their first big blowup?

Highlights from The Amazing Race

| March 8, 2010 at 8:11 AM EST

Last night the teams raced from Argentina to Hamburg, Germany where they were taken on a rollercoaster ride around the city.

When they first arrive in Germany, they get stuck at an intersection and for the first time in Amazing Race history teams must pair up with another group and a member from each team must race to bungee jump upside down from 150 feet.  After they jump they can split back up.

Teams then must choose between soccer and sauerkraut.  If they choose soccer, they race to a field and must kick 5 balls through 5 different targets.  In sauerkraut they must eat a plate of kraut before a band quits playing the sauerkraut polka.  The majority choose soccer.

The detectives choose kraut and down their plate in a few seconds and are in the lead.  Jeff and Jordan also choose kraut but their cabby gets them lost trying to find the restaurant.  When they arrive, neither can eat it and they leave to try soccer.  They are in last place.

Teams must then make their way to Haifish where they drink a boot of beer and trade the finished boot in for a clue.  Most noteable in this are the cowboys whom have never drank beer and it takes them quite a while.  Brent and Caite have some problems when she won’t drink and he tries to down it too quickly and throws up outside the bar.  Jeff has no problem with the beer and drinks it in what appears a matter of seconds.

The detectives arrive first at The Beatle’s monument and make their way through the red light district of Hamburg, Germany to find the bar where The Beatle’s first played to come in first.  They each win a discover gift card worth $5000.

Jeff and Jordan arrive last but to their happiness this was a non elimination round and they are still in the race.
