Hell’s Kitchen 2014 Recap: Week 14 – Who Got Eliminated Tonight?

The action is back tonight on Hell’s Kitchen 2014, as we see the chefs on Hells Kitchen 2014 form new teams, yet again, and see if this new format will help them make it through dinner service with no issues. You know that won’t happen, but Gordon Ramsay can only hope, right? The Hell’s Kitchen Season 12 chefs will also be taking on one of my favorite challenges on Hell’s Kitchen, the Blind Taste Test! Last week on Hell’s Kitchen Season 12, the chefs got to create their own menus in the Red Menu vs. Blue Menu Challenge. You would think creating dishes you chose yourself would be easy, right? It was not, as both teams had moments of struggle. The Blue Team started strong, but then fizzled. It was the opposite for the Red Team, as they started slow and then never looked back and took home the victory for the dinner service. Chef Ramsay had the Blue Team nominate two chefs, which were Gabriel and Richard. Despite Gabriel always having an excuse, Chef Ramsay sent home Richard and we are stuck with Gabriel for at least another week!

Here we go…

DORMS: Gabriel knows he has more chances and it is now or never. Melanie is excited to be on the Blue Team and she is a leader and going to come in and shake things up!

CHALLENGE: It is the Blind Taste test and here we go! Round 1 is Rochelle against Joy and Blue Team takes a 3-2 lead. Round 2 is Gabriel against Anton and they each got 1 out of 4, so 4-3 lead for Blue Team still. Round 3 is Jason against Scott and Red Team takes a 5-4 lead with Jason getting none correct! The final round is Melanie against Kashia and none correct for Melanie and one right for Kashia, as the Red Team wins!

REWARDS: The Red Team will be heading out to go ice skating and lessons from Olympian Rachel Flatt For losing, the Blue Team will be breaking down blocks of ice for dinner service and then make homemade ice cream for dinner! Kashia is not enjoying the ice and wants to stay on both her feet, but the other chefs are enjoying the time. Meanwhile, Gabriel is over the challenge and Jason is worried about him.

PREP: Anton is still trying to figure out where things are in the Red Kitchen and Joy is over all his questions. Over on the Blue Team, Gabriel is very quiet and his teammates question him. He is moping around, so Chef Ramsay pulls him to the back to talk. He gives him advice and Gabriel is now focused and every service has to be the best!

DINNER SERVICE: Scott is nailing the apps for the Red Team and plates are going out to diners. Melanie sends up risotto, but has to wait for Jason and the lobster tails. He gets them up and dishes going out for both kitchens. Kashia sends up scallops, but is missing one. It starts an argument between Scott and Anton on who will get it and she says back off and makes the one and all apps are served and on to entrees! Over on Blue Team and Rochelle sends up raw chicken! Kashia then sends up terrible salmon and is sick of Chef Ramsay and mumbling to herself and Chef Ramsay can hear her! She is struggling, but is working on getting her station and attitude back in check!

Gabriel is stepping up in the Blue Kitchen and working the garnish station and keeping everyone in check with the tickets, which is surprising to see. The Red Team has Anton working the meat station and Scott is trying to help, but sends up raw chicken! Kashia sends up great salmon, but Anton is ten minutes out on Beef Wellington and she must throw her fish out! The Red Team is falling apart, but then Rochelle sends up perfect Beef Wellington and Chef Ramsay is impressed with her!

Anton screws up the Beef Wellington, again! He overcooks it and blames it on the oven! He asked Joy earlier about the timing and then Chef Andi tells him the correct time and he is not going to let some little girl get in his face and rip on him because she has issues of being a woman in the kitchen! He keep poking at her and she goes off on him! He needs to respect authority and also needs to go home….sick of his excuses! Chef Ramsay pulls him in the back and tells him to get it back together!

The Blue Team wraps up their entrees and Chef Ramsay said it is one of the best dinner services ever in Hell’s Kitchen and Melanie is tooting her own horn and thinks it is because of her. The Red Team finally finishes their tickets! Clearly the Red Team is the loser and they must nominate two chefs!

DORMS: Joy is sick of Scott and Anton and they brought down the Red Team ever since they joined it. Anton is still blaming the oven and he is a natural born leader. Scott is trying to put the blame on Kashia and not him.

RESULTS: Back in front of Chef Ramsay and the Red Team has nominated Anton and Scott! Anton clearly showed no respect to Chef Andi tonight, but he shows Chef Ramsay major respect now. Chef Ramsay is disappointed in both of them and he sends home Anton! He thinks he is in a downward spiral and not coming back! Scott is safe for another week.
