Dancing with the Stars 2016 Spoilers - Week 10 Recap

Last week on Dancing with the Stars Season 23, we had Showstoppers Night in the ballroom and it was a night of Broadway and Team Up Challenge dances! The couples took on a Broadway show and song for one performance and then paired up for the Team Up Challenge. For part of that performance, the stars would take the dance floor together without their pro partners and dance it up! We had some great performances, especially from James Hinchcliffe and Jenna Johnson! In the end, the results were read and it was Marilu & Derek eliminated!

The dance styles for tonight have been announced and we made our predictions earlier, so now it is time for us to sit back and watch them and listen to the Dancing with the Stars judges 2016 give their feedback! Follow along with our recap below!

Here we go….we start with an intense intro video and then we meet the semifinalists! We have two dances tonight, as we start with the individual routines and then the trio dances. Here we go!

ROUND 1 – INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCES

Team: James and Sharna
Dance: Argentine Tango

Sharna is back after her injury on DWTS 2016. For this one, James will blindfold her at the beginning of the dance and lead her through the entire dance. A very cool concept and kind of cool to watch it play out, but it did seem like Sharna was hesitant at parts on this one. The ending was amazing though!

10.0 – Bruno said the race to the finals is on. That was an Argentine Grand Prix! They never missed a nuance in the music.
10.0 – Julianne said that was absolutely sensational. It was controlled and sexy and had dynamic and passion.
9.0 – Carrie Ann said they nailed the risky parts, but they had a few wobbles in the beginning. She only saw that because everything else was so stellar.
Score: 29/30
Team: Terra and Sasha
Dance: Rumba
Yeah, she just started the dance and I am already crying! Such a powerful start to the performance and such a strong message. She seemed to lose the rhythm towards the middle and it looked awkward and that is sad based on the beginning.

10.0 – Bruno said she really is terrific. He was not expecting a rumba like this and was not expecting the fluidity. Tonight was flawless.
10.0 – Julianne said we are all filled with emotion. She thought this was going to be a difficult dance for her, but she proved her wrong.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said she takes her breath away and our differences bond us. It was a beautiful rumba and every single movement was executed with excellence.
Score: 30/30

Team: Jana and Gleb
Dance: Quickstep
I am loving the outfits on this one! I feel like it is a good routine and they have some good moves in there, even with Gleb slipping at the end. I just have no connection with this couple on Dancing with the Stars 2016!

10.0 – Bruno said it was as elegant and slick as anything that Gucci has to offer.
9.0 – Julianne said that was a proper quickstep and her frame was great. She has come so far in this competition and hopes to see her in the finale.
9.0 – Carrie Ann said they had a rough start getting in sync, but everything after that was perfect.
Score: 28/30

Team: Calvin and Lindsay
Dance: Tango
This one has a pretty cool opening with the walls. They break out and it looks like they have a misstep with the arms. Yeah, they had a few missteps at the end and were not in sync, but they got it back to finish it.

9.0 – Bruno said he went for it with such power and determination. He has so much to express, but there can be stumbles because of it.
9.0 – Julianne said it was so great and had so much attack and their chemistry was on fire, but a little bit of a mess up.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said the beginning didn’t work with concept and then they had the misstep and he kind of overpowered Lindsay and just took her to the end!
Score: 26/30

Team: Laurie and Val
Dance: Foxtrot
In the package video, we see Laurie’s family and how they are close and sacrificed for her. We see she is close to her grandmother, who happened to pass away after the interview was done! I was in tears and how sad for Laurie. As far as the dance goes, it was another great dance from Laurie and you know she was holding her emotions back. She breaks down in tears as the song ends!

10.0 – Bruno said it looked like she was flying in the arms of an angel. Stunning.
10.0 – Julianne said not only has her performance exceeded what she does technically, but she has grown into a beautiful young woman.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said she is so sorry for her loss. The content was incredible and she delivered it with so much passion and channeled it into something beautiful for all of us.
Score: 29/30

ROUND 2 – TRIO DANCES

Team: James and Sharna with Jenna
Dance: Jive
They are bringing out his race car for this one! This was a cool dance and they were really in sync. I just love watching him dance and he is so cute out there. The girls were shaking their booties and this one worked well!

10.0 – Bruno said he is a natural at partner swapping. He never lost timing and he loved it.
10.0 – Julianne said that was one hot pit crew! They were so in sync and totally on time and such a huge comeback from last week.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said they turned into into an advantage this week and he knew his partner.
Score: 30/30 and a total of 59 out of 60 tonight!

Team: Terra and Sasha with Artem
Dance: Samba
It is always nice to see Artem back on the dance floor, right??? This was an okay routine and I didn’t feel the connection between the three of them like the last performance. The boys are sexy and working it though.

10.0 – Bruno said salty little vixen. Who was the star of that show? Madame! They framed her so well and it was so balanced.
10.0 – Julianne said this girl is on fire! She loves watching her every time she comes on the dance floor and something changed tonight.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said the way they constructed that number around Terra was unbelievable. She slayed the tango and slayed every move.
Score: 30/30, so that is a perfect night for them with 60 out of 60!

Team: Jana and Gleb with Alan
Dance: Paso Doble
This a battle of good cop versus bad cop. They had the intensity of a paso doble and it looked good. The boys are sexy on this one too. She was having fun with this one.

10.0 – Bruno said it was high passion dressed in high fashion and sexy as hell.
10.0 – Julianne said there was a fire within her that we have not seen. She is the queen of the ballroom.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said she is blown away and that was truly artistry in motion.
Score: 30/30, so a 58 out of 60 for them tonight

Team: Calvin and Lindsay with Witney
Dance: Salsa
Of course, we have Lindsay and Witney together! Lindsay said they have done a done of flips this season, so she is bringing even more intense ones tonight. This one was awesome! It had so much energy and they were working it out and the tricks were great. He was smiling and having a good time and I loved seeing that!

10.0 – Bruno said the show is all about inspiring people to get out and dance and that is what they just did!
10.0 – Julianne said that was so fun and their commitment and they bring such light to the competition.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said he came out and turned everything around. They brought the A-game in a fun, lighthearted way!
Score: 30/30, so a 56 out of 60 for the night!

Team: Laurie and Val with Maks
Dance: Samba
Val said this dance is very special, as 90% of his dance education came from Maks and he tried to pass that on to Laurie. The whole concept was very cool and how Maks was the teacher. They did an awesome job and I love the story that they told. This was super cool and I loved it!

10.0 – Bruno said that was so deliciously theatrical and another super dance for a super night.
10.0 – Julianne said tonight she was a proper Latin dancer and it was amazing.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said she is incredible and it was by far, her best dance ever and it suited her like no other dance has.
Score: 30/30, so a perfect night for them also and a 60 out of 60!
