The dance styles have already been revealed for tonight, so now it is time to watch and see how these couples tackle their styles on DWTS 2013! Join us tonight for our Dancing with the Stars 2013 Recap and watch Prom Night with us!
Last week on Dancing with the Stars Season 16, in a shocker, we saw Dorothy Hamill take herself out of the competition because of an injury. She helped save two teams, but she knew she could not continue on and compete, so she wanted another team to have that chance to. It was very honorable and a very emotional moment on DWTS Season 16.
Besides the dancing tonight, the stars will be competing for your votes on Twitter to be crowned the Prom King and Prom Queen. The star with the most votes will receive bonus points, which could become a critical part of the results show tomorrow night! Come bacj at 8/7c for our recap!
Here we go…they are all done up in big hair and old school tuxes tonight for Prom Night!
Team: Aly and Mark
Dance: Viennese Waltz
She never knew how to count music before this show, so she is struggling with that and having the emotion of the song. This was a great start to the show. She had some great lines with her arms and they moved very well across the dance floor together. This was a very solid performance.
8.0 – Bruno said we were all swept away in a whirlwind of romance, but work on top frame.
8.0 – Len said he was impressed with her dancing up until tonight….April Fool’s!
7.0 – Carrie Ann said she loves watching her move, but work on staying in the character.
Score: 23.0/30.0
Team: Andy and Sharna
Dance: Cha Cha
When Andy gets tense or nervous, he tends to grab her hands or arms very tight and he is afraid of hurting her on Dancing with the Stars 2013. He may not be the best dancer, but he is having fun and is entertaining and that is what I enjoy about this show. He rips open his shirt at the end and the judges are shaking their heads.
6.0 – Bruno said the timing was off, butt he entertainment value was full on.
6.0 – Len said he is like a sneeze because you know it is coming and there is nothing you can do about it. He is not a great dancer, but he makes him feel good after watching him.
6.0 – Carrie Ann said he is keeping up and the only way to win is to try and he tries so hard.
Score: 18.0/30.0
Team: Ingo and Kym
Dance: Paso Doble
They are the only team doing a paso doble, so they need to be strong and show this off. Neither of them went to their prom, so this is their chance to shine. It was a good routine, but I felt it should be faster in parts and it seemed off in parts. He was a strong man, but not my favorite.
7.0 – Bruno said he worked very hard, but he needs refinement in the shapes.
7.0 – Len said he liked the feel of the dance and he attacked it, but it could have used stronger arms.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said way to come back and he threw the power in it, but he needs to start his core stronger.
Score: 21.0/30.0
Team: Lisa and Gleb
Dance: Viennese Waltz
They know they need votes and in order to do that they send out some shirtless pics of Gleb to get him some followers. I’d follow for that reason! There was some clumsiness and some times where she got behind him, but there were also some moments where she had great lines.
7.0 – Bruno said much more at ease, but she missed a few passes. When she is good it looks fantastic, but it was better.
7.0 – Len said she had fluid arms, but she has to work on her footwork and posture.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said she loves watching them two, but she does have to stay in character.
Score: 21.0/30.0
Team: Kellie and Derek
Dance: Jive
Whenever Kellie does something wrong she gets the “wasp face” from Derek and she hates seeing it, but he knows she has the potential and works her harder. This girl is in it to win it (bringing some Randy Jackson into it), but she is such a strong dancer. She has great lines and it was so fast.
8.0 – Bruno said it was crisp, tight and precise.
9.0 – Len said she is officially the queen of the prom.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said that was ridiculously amazing and that was the fastest routine she has seen and she blew her away.
Score: 25.0/30.0
Team: Victor and Lindsay
Dance: Contemporary
Victor said contemporary is coming to him a lot easier, so he is feeling more confident with this routine. Maybe the emotion wasn’t there that is needed in a contemporary piece, but he did much better this week. He had some positive parts in it and he should be happy.
8.0 – Bruno said he is a dancer. Strong, gentle, caring and sentimental and he makes his partner proud.
7.0 – Len said he was pleasantly surprised and the lifts were very good, but he needs to work on dance a little more.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said it was breathtaking and they have an incredible chemistry and that is what contemporary is all about.
Score: 23.0/30.0
Team: D.L. and Cheryl
Dance: Salsa
D.L. said he is having a good time and he is going to incrementally improve every week. How he survived last week is beyond me, but he didn’t even make the bottom three. He is a little too rough for me and this was not the greatest routine.
5.0 – Bruno said he appreciates the effort, but he has to get the hips moving.
5.0 – Len said he admires his spirit, but there was no rhythm or hip action.
6.0 – Carrie Ann said he is making baby steps and that is what this show is all about and she sees the improvement.
Score: 16.0/30.0
Team: Jacoby and Karina
Dance: Rumba
Jacoby went to prom alone and played some pranks and got kicked out! Karina said he has to put the jokes aside and concentrate on the romance. This was an amazing performance. He had great lines and movement and they did awesome together. There was so much emotion in that performance.
8.0 – Bruno said he was smoldering and wonderful arm extensions, but watch his foot placement.
8.0 – Len said it has movement and he did a good job there.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said she is impressed and he has a way of connecting to the music and that was hot.
Score: 24.0/30.0
Team: Wynonna and Tony
Dance: Samba
She said the judges are asking for more of her and she is going to give it to them to the best of her ability. Wynonna is another one that I enjoy watching this season. I want her to do good and I am rooting for her and this was an alright performance, but I just want her to let loose for us and she seems to be holding back and thinking too much!
5.0 – Bruno said she has to ride the samba and it was a bit sedated for the performance.
5.0 – Len said she looks great, but she doesn’t move.
5.0 – Carrie Ann said the dance was a whisper, but it didn’t go up a notch this week.
Score: 15.0/30.0
Team: Sean and Peta
Dance: Cha Cha
Sean starts out the week very awkward and Peta is worried about how it will turn out in the end. There is something about watching Sean dance that is just too awkward for me. He is too beefy to be out on that dance floor.
7.0 – Bruno said he can definitely entertain and it was full of fun, but he needs to clean up his footwork.
7.0 – Len said full of energy and full of attack, but he does need to work on his feet and it is his best dance of the season.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said there was one thing missing in that routine…Bruno!
Score: 21.0/30.0
Team: Zendaya and Val
Dance: Viennese Waltz
Since Zendaya has never been to prom, this is dedicated to her Grandma that was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and do a prom theme from her grandma’s time. She is such a strong dancer and has such beautiful lines. She looks like a dancer and is one of the best in the competition on Dancing with the Stars 2013.
8.0 – Bruno said when she gets her movement right it is silky smooth and overall beautiful.
8.0 – Len said her dancing is natural and it flows.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said she is so good and she still feels the best is yet to come.
Score: 24.0/30.0
