| September 10, 2014 at 9:55 PM EDTIt will be a battle of the tempers tonight on Top Chef Duels 2014, as we see hot-headed chefs Dale Talde and Tiffani Faison go head-to-head for a spot in that finale and a chance at winning $100,000! This should be interesting to watch, as the drama might get high between the two chefs on Top Chef Duels Season 1. So, who wins tonight? Find out during our Top Chef Duels 2014 Recap and see who who The Duel on Top Chef Duels 2014 tonight!
Last week on Top Chef Duels Season 1, it was another domination by one of the chefs and probably not the one you would think. I am a fan of David Burke and liked him during his time on Top Chef Masters and think he is a classy guy. I think he has a ton of experience, but both of these chefs do. They have been friends since 1987 when Takashi moved in with David and remain friends today. It was Takashia dominating the night, as he won both the challenges and took home $20,000 and then went on to win The Duel and move on to the finals and David headed to The Knockout!

Here we go…the judges and chefs have arrived and time to get to that first challenge. They draw knives and Dale wins and he picks to do his challenge first.
CHALLENGE #1: For Dale’s challenge, he picks dim sum, which they failed at when they were on All Stars together. They have to create a dozen of two types of dim sum and have 30 minutes.
TASTING: For Dale, it stuck to the bottom a little bit. The flavor is there, but they are not consistent and that is one of his stipulations. For Tiffani, they said it is good. The sauce is very spicy, but they like that. They are very strong in spice.
RESULTS: In a 2-1 vote, Dale wins and takes home $10,000, but he barely won it.
CHALLENGE #2: For Tiffani’s challenge, they have to make a craft cocktail and pair it will an American canape. They have 30 minutes.
TASTING: For Tiffani, they said it is a stiff drink. For the biscuit, they said it is very good and good for 30 minutes and the biscuit balanced out the cocktail, but not what they would pair together. For Dale, they said it was nice and a bote of tang. Wolfgang Puck wanted to add the egg with her biscuit. Curtis Stone said he may have converted him to be a blood mary fan.
RESULTS: In a 2-1 vote, they pick Tiffani as the winner and she takes home $10,000 and they split the challenges!
THE DUEL: They are joined by rockers Rob Zombie, Scott Ian and Gary Holt! For The Duel, they are creating a three-course meal with a twist: all the dishes must be vegan! For the first course, they must create a vegan dish served on a skewer. For the second course, they must create a meat substitute entree. For the third course, they must create a vegan dessert with a surprise element. The chefs get their sous chefs and here we go!
FIRST COURSE: For Tiffani, Gary thought it was very good and had a nice spice to it. Curtis said he has never seen noodles skewered like that. Wolfgang said it had a nice balance. For Dale, they said it is really good. Beautiful color and great flavor. Good jobs to both of them.
SECOND COURSE: For Dale, they said the noodles are very well done and beautiful. For Tiffani, they said it is a very complex dish and very good. They forgot it was a vegan dish.
FINAL COURSE: For Tiffani, they loved the combination and she inspired it after Rob Zombie. For Dale, they loved the texture. Wolfgang doesn’t like peanut butter, but he enjoys this. They thought both were delicious.
The judges discuss all of the dishes and it is a pretty good split on everything, but I think it will be Dale for the victory. What do you think?
RESULTS: We are back in front of the judges and they said it was great execution from both of them, but only one of them can move on to the finale. The winner of The Duel is Dale! He goes to the finale and Tiffani heads off to The Knockout!
