The Voice USA 2015 Spoilers - Voice Top 5 Performances

Last week on The Voice 2015 Season 8, we had the Voice Top 6 perform on Monday night for your votes and they had some pretty good performances along the way, as each of them performed two times. For me, Sawyer Fredericks had been lacking something the past few weeks, but he came back strong last week and I think he wrapped up the victory for Season 8! At the Voice Results show on Tuesday night, it came down to India Carney and Kimberly Nichole as the bottom two fighting for the Voice Save, which went to India and Kimberly was shockingly sent home!

Here we go…we kick things off with the Voice Knockouts mentor Nate Ruess performing his new single “Nothing Without Love” and I just love his voice. A nice start to the show! For tonight’s performances, they will perform twice: first song picked for them by their coaches and the second is a hometown dedication and we get to see some hometown visits for them!

ROUND 1 – COACHES’ PICKS

Joshua Davis (Team Adam) – “I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bonnie Raitt

Adam said this is such a classic, but subtle in it’s delivery and Joshua all the way. This is such a classic song and they seemed to put a different arrangement on it and I am not a fan of it. It slowed down a slow song. People love Josh, but he bores me and this made it even worse!

Koryn Hawthorne (Team Pharrell) – “One” by U2

To be honest, Koryn was getting into the lyrics and emotions a little too much for me last week. Her facial expressions and everything bothered me, but she tamed it down on this one and while it seemed to be slow at times, she sang it very well. Her voice worked on this one and I liked what she did with it.

Meghan Linsey (Team Blake) – “I’m Not The Only One” by Sam Smith

Blake said this seems like the perfect song to hand her to let her emotions pour out. They seemed to change up the arrangement on this one and I loved it. Her voice put a little rock twist on it and she did such a good job. She totally got into the emotional side of the lyrics and it was very good.

India Carney (Team Christina) – “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles

Christina said this is a singer’s song and you have to know how to attack it and India can. The one thing lacking in India’s performances this season was her connection to the lyrics. I feel like she was feeling this song and she sounded so good. She came out swinging on this one and I loved it.

Sawyer Fredericks (Team Pharrell) – “For What It’s Worth” by Buffalo Springfield

Sawyer had a couple performances in the middle that lacked for me. He has brought it back big time these past couple weeks and this was a great song choice and he sounded so good on it. His voice worked so well with it and I think we have another Top 10 on the iTunes here!

ROUND 2 – HOMETOWN DEDICATIONS

Joshua Davis (Team Adam) – “When I Paint My Masterpiece” by Bob Dylan

For me, Joshua sounds the same on every song. Sure, he has a style and he embraces it, but I think he just never mixes it up and maybe that is why I can’t get on board with supporting him. Great guy and great voice, but not for me.

Koryn Hawthorne (Team Pharrell) – “Oh, Mary, Don’t You Weep”

To be honest, I feel like this could be one of those performances on The Voice USA 2015 that could fly up the charts on iTunes. She took us to church and it was over-the-top with the production and her vocals, but I was not a fan of it….sorry!

Meghan Linsey (Team Blake) – “Tennessee Whiskey” by George Jones

I went back and forth on this one, as she sounded good in parts and then it seemed weird in other parts. Overall, I think it was a great performance and it was a different sound for her and I liked that.

India Carney (Team Christina) – “Earth Song” by Michael Jackson

This goes back to the normal India, as she nails the vocals and puts on a great vocal performance, but where was the emotion? I mean, this song allowed her to connect big time to the lyrics, but I did not feel and she was so focused on those vocals.

Sawyer Fredericks (Team Pharrell) – “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri

I was surprised by this song choice, but it seemed to be lacking for me. I feel they didn’t really change much of it from the original, so it was lacking for me. I don’t think his voice worked on it, but I am sure it’ll go to #1 on iTunes!
