The Voice - Season 7

Last night on The Voice 2014 Season 7, it was a strong night to the live shows on The Voice 2014. We saw veteran coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine work with their artists in getting them ready for the live shows. America finally had a say in who stays and who goes home and I am hoping they liked Reagan James, as she was solid in her performance of “Try” by Colbie Caillat. How can she only be 15 years old???

The fun and the playoffs continue soon, so follow along with our recap below and see the videos of The Playoffs when available from NBC!

The following post contains videos from tonight’s episode of The Voice 2014 Season 7 Playoffs. Don’t want to see them yet or see the Top 20 on The Voice Season 7 perform, then don’t look ahead!!!

Here we go…we take a look back at last night’s performances and then get prepped for tonight’s performances by Team Gwen and Team Pharrell! Before that, we get a special performance from Pharrell Williams and his new single “Hunter” and he sounds like Robin Thicke on this one! Now we move on to the performances of the night!

Ryan Sill (Team Gwen) – “I Lived” by OneRepublic

Gwen said a typical song choice would be a boy band song for Ryan, so she wanted to get away from that one. She goes with a OneRepublic song and it is a good song choice. Ryan has one of those good voices in the competition, but it is nothing that blows me away. His looks may pull in some votes though!

Jean Kelley (Team Pharrell) – “Piano In The Dark” by Brenda Russell

For me, Jean has been kind of quiet heading into the playoffs. I think she has a strong voice and she showed some strong emotions with this performance. That straight hair gave her a whole new look and I was liking this performance tonight.

Elyjuh Rene (Team Pharrell) – “Latch” by Disclosure

I was unsure why Pharrell picked Elyjuh to win his Knockout Round. He saw something in him and I think that something came out of him tonight. This was a great song choice and he did so well with it. This was a new side of him and I liked it.

Bryana Salaz (Team Gwen) – “Amnesia” by 5 Seconds Of Summer

I could sense the emotions coming out with this performance on The Voice USA 2014, but I just can’t get on board with rooting for Bryana. I just don’t think her voice is that strong and I don’t see that star quality in her. She blends in and I want her to stand out!

Luke Wade (Team Pharrell) – “Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gaye

Luke is so comfortable on that stage and he has such a good voice to go with it. I am a huge fan of him and think he could make it all the way to the finale, but I am not sure if this type of song choice would get him there. He does his thing, but this is old school and he needs to be more current. Going on that, but I loved the ending!

Anita Antoinette (Team Gwen) – “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor

To start, she looked beautiful tonight and I was loving her confidence tonight. This was a great song choice and she was working that stage and that crowd. I love the reggae sound and she put her twists on it and I just want to go download it right now!

DaNica Shirey (Team Pharrell) – “Help Me” by Joni Mitchell

DaNica won me over during her last performance and I am intrigued to see what she does tonight. She has such a smooth sound to her voice and it seems effortless for her. With that being said, I think this was a bad song choice. I don’t think many people are going to relate to it, which I guess could help her, but to me it turned me off a little. She still nailed that performance!

Sugar Joans (Team Pharrell) – “I Say A Little Prayer” by Aretha Franklin

This was Pharrell’s steal during the Knockout Rounds, so they are both excited to work together. I think she has a strong voice and loved her Knockout performance, but this seemed like screeching to me and I am not liking Pharrell’s song choices tonight. I had more faith in him!

Ricky Manning (Team Gwen) – “Lay Me Down” by Sam Smith

First of all, who else was shocked to hear that Ricky had a girlfriend??? With that being said, he is an amazing singer and I think Sam Smith will be my next singer that I am going to be sick of hearing when every contestant sings them on all the singing competition shows! Great performance though.

Taylor John Williams (Team Gwen) – “Stuck In The Middle With You” by Stealers Wheel

Gwen said he needs to learn how to be more animated with his face and it is all about his face tonight with this performance. I am just in love with Taylor! He is such a good singer and I just love his vibe. He nailed this performance and could be be the next winner of The Voice Season 7????

The performances are done for the night! Who are you voting for???
