The Voice - Season 7

Last week on The Voice 2014 Season 7, things wrapped up with The Knockouts and we saw the final battles of the season and The Voice coaches 2014 (Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams) finalize their teams on Monday night, which included a pretty good battle between Ryan Sill and Beth Spangler on Team Gwen. We then got a Road to the Lives special on Tuesday night and a look back at all the Top 20 artists and their journey on the show. This is an interesting group of singers and I am beyond intrigued to see them perform this week and see who America is liking and not just the coaches!

The fun and the playoffs begin soon, so follow along with our recap below and see the videos of The Playoffs when available from NBC!

The following post contains videos from tonight’s episode of The Voice 2014 Season 7 Playoffs. Don’t want to see them yet or see the Top 20 on The Voice Season 7 perform, then don’t look ahead!!!

Here we go…we start with the veterans tonight, as Team Blake and Team Adam will be performing tonight on The Voice USA 2014! The voting is up to you, so pick your favorites!!! America picks two artists from each team and then the coaches get to pick one! You can vote on The Voice app during the show and then we go into a performance by Maroon 5 and their hit song “Animals” and Adam Levine is so yummy!

We get some quick words from the coaches and now time for the performances!

Taylor Brashears (Team Blake) – “Long Time Gone” by Dixie Chicks

She brings out the fiddle to start the performance, but not for long! I am so torn on this one. I am a fan of Taylor and think she has a great country voice. Was this a good performance? It sure was, but I don’t think it was anything overwhelmingly amazing and I need to be amazed to vote for you!

Chris Jamison (Team Adam) – “Don’t” by Ed Sheeran

I mean, can you look at that face??? How could you not vote for him based on that? He is just so pretty! I am such a fan of this song and he does a good job with it. This is his style and it has a Justin Timberlake feel to it. I think he was taking on too much and moving too much, as he seemed to be out of breath for some of the lyrics, but the song is quick at times. He has some great range and I like that.

Jessie Pitts (Team Blake) – ” Holding Out For A Hero” by Bonnie Tyler

The sound of her voice is so good. She has a raspiness and unique sound to it and I am a big fan of her. This is a classic and she put her own little twist on it. She has good control over her voice and hits some big notes and I like her a lot!

James David Carter (Team Blake) – “Two Of A Kind, Working On A Full House” by Garth Brooks

Garth is an idol of James, so he is honored to be singing this song tonight on The Voice USA 2014. To be honest, I think this song choice could hurt him tonight. I think he has been singing it since he was a child and that hurts him. He sounds like Garth Brooks way too much and he doesn’t put a twist on it, so who wants to vote for Garth on The Voice 2014???

Matt McAndrew (Team Adam) – “God Only Knows” by The Beach Boys

Matt’s Knockout Round was the only battle not fully shown, so this is our chance to finally see a little more form him. He is taking on another iconic song of the night. He does have some good range and hits some high notes. I think his voice is awesome and so smooth, but I am thinking this was a bad song choice for him. Anyone else?

Reagan James (Team Blake) – “Try” by Colbie Caillat

Blake said this song can restrict her, if she doesn’t watch out. I am in love with this song, so I am excited to see this. She does have a Colbie sound to her voice and that is a compliment. She put a little twist on it, but I was wanting more. She hits some big notes along the way and she has that unique sound to her voice too, so Blake is working that this season!

Taylor Phelan (Team Adam) – “Cool Kids” by Echosmith

I like Taylor, but this song was not one of my favorites from him. He started a little rough, but it got better as it went one. I don’t know what it was, but it was a rough start and it turned me off to the whole performance.

Mia Pfirrman (Team Adam) – “Young and Beautiful” by Lana Del Ray

Adam said this song is dark, but it is a bold and big song. I don’t know what it is about her, but I just can’t get on board with rooting for her. I don’t think her voice is that strong. She can hit some big notes, but she seems so rough at times and I just don’t like it.

Damien (Team Adam) – “I’m Not The Only One” by Sam Smith

This is one of my favorite songs right now and Sam Smith is so amazing, so this is going to be a tough one for Damien! Hey Damien, I am impressed! This was a solid performance and he put a little twist on the song and showed some great range. He hit those high notes with ease and I liked it.

Craig Wayne Boyd (Team Blake) – “Some Kind Of Wonderful” by Grand Funk Railroad

Do you ever feel like people are setup to win this show? I would feel that with Craig, as he was stolen and stolen back and now gets the last spot of Night 1??? With that being said, I have been a fan of his all season long and his voice is so strong and so seasoned. He is a true talent and I am a fan!

The performances are done for Team Adam and Team Blake! Who are you voting for?
