Last week on The Voice USA Season 7, the Top 5 took the stage on Monday night and performed for your votes. This was such an intense night and I honestly had no clue which three were moving on to the finale and which two would be eliminated, but Chris Jamison was hoping his performances would move him along (and so were we)! America voted and the Voice results were delivered and it was Damien and Taylor John Williams eliminated, so America agreed with us and kept Chris in the competition! However, Damien and Taylor had one more chance to make the Voice Finale! They took the stage with the other nine artists eliminated from the Top 12 on The Voice USA 2014 and performed for the Voice Wildcard! America voted again and Carson Daly delivered the results during The Today Show the next morning!

Here we go….how fitting that it is a Team Adam versus Team Blake battle??? The finalists will be performing an original song tonight, which is huge to see how it does on iTunes! They will also perform a duet with their coach and another song. You ready for this???
Round 1
Damien (Team Adam) – “A Song For You” by Donny Hathaway (Coach Choice)
Adam said he needs to move on that stage and connect more with the audience on this one. There has never been a doubt that Damien is a great singer. He has a way of connecting with those lyrics and that is what he did with this song. This was a great performance and a solid vocal from Damien.
Craig Wayne Boyd (Team Blake) – “My Baby’s Got A Smile On Her Face” (Original Song)
Blake said this song is fun and sexy and the only reason why he hasn’t recorded it himself is because it is so hard to sing, but he thinks Craig can nail this one. I guess it could work for Craig, as this is such a good song. He might be happy that Blake never recorded it because this could climb those iTunes charts! Which lady out there doesn’t want Craig singing this song to them???
Chris Jamison (Team Adam) – “Lost Without U” by Robin Thicke (Coach Duet)
They both hit those falsettos big time during their performances, so this duet could be great. Then they add in a Robin Thicke song??? Yeah, that is three falsetto singers and they nailed it. Chris has a voice very similar to Adam’s and they blended together very well. This is so good!
Matt McAndrew (Team Adam) – “Wasted Love” (Original Song)
It is cool to see the coaches work with their artists on these original songs. I am loving this new concept this season and think these singles are going to take off! I will admit, this song gave me chills. I have been a fan of Matt all season long, but this song just fits his voice and he nailed this performance. This was so good and all four artists are bringing it tonight on The Voice USA 2014!
Round 2
Craig Wayne Boyd (Team Blake) – “Boots On” by Randy Houser (Coach Duet)
You can see that Blake truly respects Craig and is just impressed with everything he has done. I just get a different vibe between Blake and Craig then Blake has been with other contestants over the seasons. This was a great song choice and they were having some major fun up there. Craig’s voice is perfect for this song and they sounded good together.
Damien (Team Adam) – “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” by Elton John (Coach Duet)
These artists are definitely bringing it hard tonight! This was a great song choice and they both sounded good. Damien makes it look effortless when he sings and Adam is just pretty! This is going to be a tough one tonight!
Chris Jamison (Team Adam) – “Velvet” (Original Song)
I think Adam loves Chris and maybe sees some of himself in him. I can see that and I can see the love between the two of them. Besides loving the pants on this one, I am not so sure about the actual song. This is a total Michael Jackson-type song. He has a great voice and sings it well and hits those high notes, but I just wasn’t feeling it like the other original songs tonight.
Matt McAndrew (Team Adam) – “Lost Stars” by Adam Levine (Coach Duet)
They both brought out their guitars for this one. Matt has such a unique sound to his voice and I love it. This is one of those indie-type songs and it works with Matt’s voice. They had a good sound together and really hit their stride with the chorus.
Round 3
Craig Wayne Boyd (Team Blake) – “In Pictures” by Alabama (Coach Choice)
Oh lord, I was getting the Kleenex ready for this performance before he even took the stage. This was perfect all around: perfect vocal, perfect song choice and perfect ending for Craig. He nailed this one and the emotions were so strong. The lyrics hit home and I loved it!
Damien (Team Adam) – “Soldier” (Original Song)
It’s so hard on this one, as Damien is so quiet and humble for this whole experience. He is the underdog for tonight, but his voice is so good. This is a great song choice for Damien and the lyrics are truly fitting for him. He kicks it in big time during the chorus and I like that.
Chris Jamison (Team Adam) – “Cry Me A River” by Justin Timberlake (Coach Choice)
Chris has been probably the “most improved singer” of this season. He has come on so strong and I have said he is Justin Timberlake all season long and this could be epic. This started so slow for me and I was so nervous. I am a big Chris fan and thought he would nail this. I think he had some sound issues, but he kicked it in during the middle and showed off his vocals. This ended so, so good!
Matt McAndrew (Team Adam) – “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” (Coach Choice)
He has cracked the iTunes Top 10 three times this season (and the only singer to do that), so that should win it for him alone, right? This song has been sung hundreds of times on these singing competition shows, but this could be a whole new take on it and I am excited! This was slow and calm and he just sang and I love the sound of his voice. He brought it tonight and I think he will be the winner of The Voice Season 7!
The performances are done for tonight! Who are you voting for???
