So You Think You Can Dance 2014: Recap – Top 8 Performances (VIDEO)

It is time for the Top 8 on So You Think You Can Dance 2014 to take the stage tonight and perform one more time for America and the judges before the results on SYTYCD 2014 are delivered! Two more dancers will be heading home, which is going to be extra tough to see when only eight dancers remain! So, who is eliminated tonight on SYTYCD Season 11? Find out during our So You Think You Can Dance 2014 Recap and see who went home on So You Think You Can Dance 2014 tonight!

Last week on So You Think You Can Dance Season 11, the Top 10 dancers were finally on their own and got their new partners: the All Stars! We saw some familiar faces back on that stage and they brought some pretty good routines, but you could tell the chemistry was not there for all of them yet. Overall, it was a night of some great performances and it was sad to see another two dancers voted off. In the end, it was Emilio Dosal and Bridget Whitman that were eliminated, which left us with eight dancers remaining.

Here we go…we start out with the opening group number, which is choreographed by Travis Payne. It is an awesome routine and then we find out that the winner will be crowned in three short weeks. How insane??? All of the dancers will be performing quick solos tonight throughout the night. Now to the performances on SYTYCD 2014, which are for Michael Jackson Week!

Ricky and Jaimie

They will be dancing a contemporary routine from Travis Wall. He said it is about that best friend that picks you up when you are down and will always be there for you. I am so excited to see Ricky take on a Travis Wall routine! They both did so well together and his lines are amazingly well. He gets those legs out there and extends the hell out of them. This was so good!

RESULTS: No big shocker again, but he is safe tonight on SYTYCD 2014!

Valerie and Ryan

They will be dancing a Samba. They said it will be a battle and the samba rolls are key for this, but they say it is a mess in rehearsals. I am a fan of Valerie, but this was rough. She was too stiff and the samba rolls were very rough. She had fun with it and that is cool to see, but this was not very good.

RESULTS: She is safe this week!

Casey and Comfort

They will be dancing a hip hop routine. Comfort is the kiss of death and Casey wants her, but if he kisses her then he dies. I don’t know what it is, but I don’t think Casey looks good with the hip hop routine. He seemed too tall or something and the legs and arms were not as hard as I would like to see them.

RESULTS: He is in the bottom two guys for tonight!

Tanisha and Nick

They will be dancing a contemporary routine from Stacey Tookey. She said this is about the love that got away. She got hiccups all day and Nick said they are the best thing he has ever heard. This was a beautiful routine and she is such a good dancer. I feel she was not the best last week, so will this be her swan song?

RESULTS: She is in the bottom two girls tonight!

Rudy and Allison

This routine is about a dark obsession. Allison wants him, but he is taken and he is trying to push her away. He said that Rudy needs to breath with this routine. Another awesome routine and they worked well together and there was so much emotion and intensity with this routine….so good!

RESULTS: He is in the bottom two guys tonight!

Zack and Mackenzie

They will be dancing a Broadway routine. She is a country girl and meets the city boy. They said he was picking it up like a pro and is a sponge. They were in sync and this was a cute routine and I liked the chemistry between the two of them!

RESULTS: He is safe tonight!

Jacque and tWitch

They will be dancing hip hop routine from Dave Scott. He said he needs her to let go and that is when she does the moves properly. She needs to get out of her own head. I’ll admit it, but I was mesmerized by Jacque on this one. She owned that stage and she stole the floor, even with tWitch as her partner….my eyes were on here!

RESULTS: She is in the bottom two girls this week.

Jessica and Will

They will be dancing a contemporary routine from Mandy Moore. She said this is a story about Earth and mankind. He represents the Earth and nature and she lives a fast life. This was intense and they both did a good job telling the story.

RESULTS: She is safe tonight on SYTYCD 2014!

More of the winners from the dance crew contest earlier this season, as Control Freaks takes the stage. Kind of cool to see.

FINAL RESULTS: After America’s votes have been counted, the two dancers leaving tonight are Tanisha and Rudy! That means Jacque and Casey are safe tonight on So You Think You Can Dance 2014!
