Snooki and JWoww banned from filming in Newark. Just weeks after the mayor of Hoboken denied producers a permit for the spin-off “based on protecting public safety and quality of life concerns,” Newark’s mayor Cory Booker has followed suit and recently announced a similar decision. It seems as if  the whole state will soon ban them from leaving Jersey City.

In a letter to 495 Productions, the company behind the spin-off, Booker says, “While we appreciate your desire to film and capture the essence of our great city, we are confident that the filming of this show will most certainly attract a high level of local and national attention and notoriety.”

Booker explains that his “first priority is the safety and well-being of citizens and visitors,” who he says would be put at risk if emergency personnel are forced to respond to any potential incidents caused by the production.

Of course, the highly anticipated show does have a home town, the mayor of Jersey City already granted a permit for the spin-off to film there. It looks like they wont be leaving the city though..
