MasterChef 2015 Season 6 Recap: Week 3 – Who Got Eliminated Tonight?

The drama on MasterChef 2015 Season 6 begins tonight, as the home cooks on MasterChef Season 6 face their first team challenge of the season! These challenges always bring the stupid fights among the contestants, so tonight on Master Chef 2015 it should be no different. The losing team will face the first Pressure Test of the season, which has the contestants making 12 cinnamon rolls and I am already hungry thinking about them! Last week on Master Chef Season 6, the Top 22 took on the first Mystery Box Challenge of the season and it featured ingredients from their own homes they left behind when coming to the show! So, they were very familiar with the ingredients and could make familiar dishes, right? Model Dan won the challenge and decided that the other contestants would be baking an apple pie for the Elimination Test and he got to pick which home cooks would be baking. While some struggled, we did see some pretty awesome apple pies. Two home cooks were eliminated, as Mateo and Brianna were sent home!

Here we go…

TEAM CHALLENGE – The home cooks head to the amusement park and will cook the food for all the guests at the park that day. The contestants get to pick their own teams and a lot of the women head to Dan. For the team captains, the judges have picked Kerry for the Red Team and Darah for the Blue Team. They will be making a burger with fries and coleslaw and then fish and chips. The guests are the judges and the team with the most votes will win the challenge and the losers face the Pressure Test.

The Red Team comes up with a plan fast and will be doing three sauces for the burger on the side, which is crazy. The Blue Team is taking more time and Darah seems to be asking what people want to do and going from there. Chef Ramsay talks to Red Team and thinks three sauces is too much, so they decide to make just one. Katrina is working on batter for onion rings and fish for the Blue Team and falling behind and there is no fish being made.

Claudia helps get some fish down and they have fish ready as the guests arrive! They choose what they want to eat and if they have to wait longer than ten seconds in line, then they lose the vote! Despite their issues, the Blue Team is off to a strong start and working well together. Kerry is focusing on leading the team and screws up making food and they fall behind. Now the Blue Team is serving raw fish and Chef Ramsay is not happy on MasterChef 2015!

RESULTS – Both teams had their ups and downs, but the team with the most votes tonight is the Red Team. Now the Blue Team faces the Pressure Test!

PRESSURE TEST – Only five of the home cooks will take part in this Pressure Test and the Team Captain picks them. The five home cooks she saves are Ailsa, Claudia, Sara, Dan and Hetal, but she said she doesn’t want it and gives it to Derek! The five home cooks participating tonight are Darah, Katrina, Hetal, Olivia and Tommy. For this challenge, they will have 45 minutes to make 12 amazing cinnamon rolls!

Tommy sure can run his mouth, but he doesn’t seem to get the concept of time and he might not even get these cinnamon rolls done in time. He gets them in the oven and they all get them in the box!

TASTING – 

• Darah – Chef Ramsay said the dough is raw and she has overcomplicated something simple. Christina said they are not very exciting.
• Hetal – Chef Ramsay said they are not very attractive, but they are cooked beautifully and she has the potential to become a unique baker.
• Katrina – Graham said they look good, but a shame she left the paper in the box. It has a unique flavor and he likes the fruit and sweetness.
• Olivia – Christina said they look better baked than some others. The orange zest helps carry the flavor and not a bad cinnamon roll.
• Tommy – Chef Ramsay opens the box and said what in the f**k is that! He said there are bits in there that taste good, but it should come with a warning and do not open in daylight!

RESULTS – For tonight, the home cook with the best cinnamon rolls is Hetal, so good thing she stuck around to compete in the Pressure Test! Olivia and Katrina are also safe tonight, so it comes down to Tommy and Darah. I knew this one was coming, as the judges send home Darah and Tommy remains in the competition!
