Vinny Jersey ShortJersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino is ready to speak out to youths about Clinical Anxiety Disorders, including his own. Guadagnino departed the show last Thursday to better manage his issues with his anxiety disorder.

Since then, Vinny has decided to speak out to youth regarding his anxiety disorder, which is something he says he’s suffered with since childhood but has learned to manage it over the years. Vinny will partner up with The Jed Foundation, a national nonprofit working to protect the emotional health of teenagers and college students, and MTV to tell his story and help others through the Peabody Award-winning Half of Us campaign.

“We all have hard times when we feel stressed or anxious, but if those feelings are interfering with your life, school, work, relationships, you need to reach out for help,” Guadagnino said.

Since his departure Vinny Guadagnino has penned a book (out April 17th) speaking out about his issues with anxiety and how to better control the chaos the disorder brings. The memoir named Control the Crazy: My Plan to Stop Stressing, Avoid Drama and Maintain Your Inner Cool gives advice on how to handle anxiety.

Guadagnino recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his decision to write his memoir saying

I’ve always wanted to help people that have been through the same thing I have or been through anything hard in their lives. It helps me when I help people. I’ve been putting it together for a long time, and making an outline and putting the small pieces together but then it wasn’t until I realized when I was going to have this moment when I left and everyone would actually see what I’m going through. Once it was put in the spotlight I said, “You know what? Now’s a great opportunity.” People get it, they’ll relate to it, and they know if they want to seek help or read a self-help book that they can relate to, then now’s the perfect time to let it out.
