It is semi-final time on Dancing with the Stars All Stars and the Final Five are about to dance to Michael Jackson songs in hopes of making the finale next week. It has been a great season and a lot of good dances on DWTS All Stars and we have seen some previous winners go home early on Dancing with the Stars 2012, but how will they handle the pressure of dancing to Michael Jackson songs?

We are down to the Final Five couples on Dancing with the Stars All Stars: Kelly and Val, Emmitt and CherylMelissa and TonyApolo and Karina and Shawn and Derek. It has been a back and forth season, with Shawn and Derek being some early front runners and now it seems Melissa and Tony have been going strong the past couple weeks. They had a perfect 60 last week and a 99 out of a possible 100 points in the last two weeks, so they are the couple to beat on DWTS All Stars, right?

The couples will be dancing a traditional ballroom style dance to the Michael Jackson song on Dancing with the Stars All Stars and then they will come back and do one of the weird combination dances that they chose for each other last week on the results show, like the Caveman Hustle and Big Top Jazz. I am interested in seeing what they weird names will turn out to be, but with a double elimination tomorrow night none of these dancers can mess up. A lot is on the line, so come back for my Dancing with the Stars All Stars live recap.

The night kicks off with the troupe and All Star professional dancers dancing to two of Michael Jackson’s biggest hits: “Smooth Criminal” and “The Way You Make Me Feel.” It is fun and entertaining, but just filler…give me the couples dances on DWTS All Stars!

Team: Melissa and Tony
Dance: “Caveman” Hustle
Since these dances are so unique, the couple is having trouble putting the dances together. In camera blocking, Tony hurt his back and now worried if they can make it through both dances tonight. This was a very fun and entertaining routine and I loved it. No real technique, but they had fun and did a lot of tricks.
9.5 – Len said they captured the flavor of the caveman and he enjoyed watching them.
9.0 – Bruno said they lost it on the turn a couple times, but very entertaining.
9.0 – Carrie Ann said was a perfect way to bring the two dances together.
TOTAL: 27.5/30.0

Team: Shawn and Derek
Dance: “Knight Rider” Banghra
They don’t even know what Banghra is, so this should be interesting. I don’t know what Banghra is either, but what they just did was amazing. It looked a little Bollywood, but they did so good on that dance floor. I loved it and they worked their butts off during that routine.
10.0 – Len said it was fantastic and brilliant.
10.0 – Bruno said it was a mega-hit.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said it was a really challenging routine and great job.
TOTAL: 30.0/30.0

Team: Apolo and Karina
Dance: “Big Top” Jazz
They are wanting to not be in the bottom this week, so they are putting in the most hours they have ever worked this week on Dancing with the Stars All Stars. They performed to “What You Waiting For” and that is what I was thinking the whole time. I was waiting for it to begin. I was bored and he slipped to start it out and then she slipped, so it was like they never got on the same page.
9.0 – Len said there were a couple awkward moments in there, but he is a champion.
9.5 – Bruno said it was a great mixture of jazz and one of their most creative performances.
8.5 – Carrie Ann said she loved where they were going, but it started with a slip and it was sort of disjointed.
TOTAL: 27.0/30.0

Team: Emmitt and Cheryl
Dance: “Espionage” Lindy Hop
Cheryl said this is going to very cartoony and out of Emmitt’s comfort zone, so he is going to have to loosen up to do this right. I think was danced very well. They had the Lindy Hop going very well and seemed to be enjoying themselves out there on the dance floor.
9.0 – Len said he liked the energy, the lifts and the whole package was great.
9.0 – Bruno said it was like a Looney Tunes version of James Bond.
9.0 – Carrie Ann said that was their most-animated performance ever.
TOTAL: 27.0/30.0

Team: Kelly and Val
Dance: “Surfer” Flamenco
They feel like the other DWTS All Stars couples might feel like they are competitors, which they are taking as a compliment by them giving them a hard dance tonight. Val takes his shirt off, so he will win some votes that way. This a very fast-paced dance and they do alright, but then they get in some water and Val is in a small briefs, so that will win over even more votes.
9.0 – Len said their energy and the way they worked was impressive, but they could have used a little more Flamenco.
8.5 – Bruno said Kelly has been upstaged by the power of Speedos and the placement wasn’t there.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said it was all Paso and it didn’t have the Flamenco.
TOTAL: 25.5/30.0

Team: Melissa and Tony
Dance: Argentine Tango to “Dirty Diana”
Melissa is the only one left in Dancing with the Stars All Stars the has not won a previous season, so they are ready to fight for their first mirror ball. The tricks started in their first routine and continued in this performance and I am now rooting for them to win it all! She twirled down his body and much more and it was awesome.
10.0 – Len said on their two performances tonight he would be disappointed if they weren’t here next week.
10.0 – Bruno said she excelled all expectations and she deserves to make the finals.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said that was beyond anything she could have imagined from her and the lifts were out of this world.
TOTAL: 30.0/30.0 and a total of 57.5/60.0

Team: Shawn and Derek
Dance: Argentine Tango to “Bad”
Shawn said she has tried to hide all season that she didn’t want it, but now she does want it and admits it. This was another great routine and this couple is so strong. They lacked the tricks and wow factor that Melissa and Tony’s routine had though, so that could hurt their scores.
10.0 – Len said they nailed it.
10.0 – Bruno said it was brilliant and it was breathtaking and equally brilliant as Melissa and Tony’s Argentine Tango.
9.0 – Carrie Ann said the movements were breathtaking, but they lacked the passion of the dance.
TOTAL: 29.0/30.0 and a total of 59.0/60.0

Team: Apolo and Karina
Dance: Rumba to “Man In The Mirror”
Apolo thinks this dance has to be perfect in order for him to make the finals and better than he has ever been before. It was a good dance, but it seems like Karina is off tonight for some reason. Anyone else see it? They brought out Apolo with an open shirt to try and win some votes also.
10.0 – Len said it was wave after wave of effortless emotion.
10.0 – Bruno said they nailed it and perfectly pitched between sensuality and romance.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said they reached into her heart and melted it and it was beautiful.
TOTAL: 30.0/30.0 and a total of 57.0/60.0

Team: Emmitt and Cheryl
Dance: Tango to “Leave Me Alone”
Emmitt said this is like the playoffs for the Super Bowl and he is going to push through it and make it happen. They are both frustrated with each other during rehearsal for this dance, so let’s see how it works on the dance floor for Dancing with the Stars All Stars. It was a pretty good routine and I think they did good together.
9.0 – Len said they coped well tonight and well done.
9.0 – Bruno said he loved their intensity, but it needed some refinement in the footwork.
9.0 – Carrie Ann said they brought their A-game in both routines, but tango has a lot of technique.
TOTAL: 27.0/30.0 and a total of 54.0/60.0

Team: Kelly and Val
Dance: Rumba to “I Can’t Stop Loving You”
The Rumba is all about intimacy and Kelly has a problem with that, even though she is on a soap opera. This was a good routine, but for some reason I cannot get on board with this couple on Dancing with the Stars All Stars. Anyone else feel that way?
9.5 – Len said it had control and they did it wonderful.
9.5 – Bruno said it was smoldering and wonderful.
9.5 – Carrie Ann said it was beautiful and it was an honest vulnerability.
TOTAL: 28.5/30.0 and a total of 54.0/60.0
