JULIANNE HOUGH, BRUNO TONIOLI

Last week on Dancing with the Stars 2014, things kicked out with the Season 19 premiere and 13 new couples took to the dance floor and performed for your votes. It was a good night and we saw some pretty good routines, especially for Night 1. This all led up to the first results show of the season, which will only happen for the first two weeks and then back to once a week shows. After a bad performance and getting down on herself big time, we saw Lolo Jones and her partner Keo Motsepe eliminated after only one performance!

Here we go…things kick off with the couples taking the stage and performing together and the judges joining in. It is another great start, but time to get to the performances!

Team: Randy and Karina
Dance: Cha Cha

He said people could see that he can kind of move last week, so now he is bringing it on this week. He has some moves in there, but he is big and beefy and it looks rough in times. He is too stiff, but he was having fun and I do enjoy that.

7.0 – Bruno said his energy and enthusiasm are in the right place, but he needs to tidy up the edges.
7.0 – Julianne said his fighting shoulders are in there, but it was really fun and a great way to start the night.
7.0 – Len said they put him in a really good mood. His footwork is not great, but he comes out and gives his everything.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said she was disappointed and she was expecting more aggression.
Score: 28/40

Team: Janel and Val
Dance: Foxtrot

She thought they did great last week, but was expecting better scores. That brought out stricter Val this week and that means grumpy Val! I actually liked this and they had some great moves in there. Very solid routine and some great choreography.

9.0 – Bruno said she is hot to trot. For him, it was almost perfect.
8.0 – Julianne said that was not a traditional foxtrot, but screw tradition. She loved it!
8.0 – Len said the part in hold was perfect and she can really dance.
9.0 – Carrie Ann said she is impressed with the versatility she showed tonight.
Score: 34/40

Team: Lea and Artem
Dance: Jive

She was in shock for being in jeopardy last week on DWTS 2014. She said the jive is not natural for her. This was an awesome routine for her and she left all those nerves and worries at the door. It was high energy and great!

9.0 – Bruno said that star quality came across and she was fantastic.
9.0 – Julianne said she gave her chills during that and she is a hot mama and she held her own completely.
8.0 – Len said he was concerned about the jive, but doesn’t know why. That was terrific.
9.0 – Carrie Ann said the ladies are killing it tonight and that was so exciting.
Score: 35/40

Team: Michael and Emma
Dance: Samba

He wants to see Emma in a bikini, but she said that is not for her. This was just hard to watch. He is a terrible dancer and has no rhythm at all. His hip action is hard.

6.0 – Bruno said he is the envy of all the men in America tonight.
6.0 – Julianne said he mastered the hip rolls, but the in betweens he needs some lessons.
6.0 – Len said it was wild and wacky, but he does like him.
6.0 – Carrie Ann said the world needs more of what he’s got and he is full of joy, but did not see any samba.
Score: 24/40

Team: Tavis and Sharna
Dance: Cha Cha

He is on book tour for his book, so he is crazy busy with that and it is hard to learn the dance at the same time. She knows he can do it better, but there is no time. He is freaking out at rehearsals and said he is going to have a meltdown on Monday. This was another one of those routines where he was stiff and not the best. He was thinking too much and not having fun with it.

7.0 – Bruno said he felt and he sold it, but he needs to be lighter on his feet.
7.0 – Julianne said he performed it very well, but does agree with polishing it up.
7.0 – Len said it lacked a bit of polish and needed to be cleaner in the movement.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said he’s got all the steps and was impressed with that, but he should be jamming.
Score: 28/40

Team: Alfonso and Witney
Dance: Samba

They topped the leaderboard last week, so the pressure is on this week! He is less confident heading into this week and it is not connecting. They had some rough rehearsals. Yeah, that whole package video was to scare us. This was an awesome routine and they nailed it. He is definitely one of the best this season and should be in the finals!

8.0 – Bruno said his personal style is unique and could watch him dance forever, but they do need that Samba.
8.0 – Julianne said he is great and he is going to make everything look great, but she wants to see the Latin and ballroom groove.
8.0 – Len said he has had two dances up his alley, but next week will show us if he can handle the ballroom.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said they lost connection and was a solid performance, but not their best.
Score: 32/40

Team: Bethany and Derek
Dance: Foxtrot

Taylor Swift tweeted about their performance last week, so Bethany was excited about it. She hurt her ankle last week and it is causing her more pain this week. It got worse as the week went on. Hurt ankle and all, she still did a very good job. It was a cool dance and good choreography.

8.0 – Bruno said that really tickled his fancy and she did it overall very well.
8.0 – Julianne said she is her jam and that was awesome.
9.0 – Len said that is a great number and best he’s seen tonight.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said dancing is about telling a story and she is a great storyteller.
Score: 33/40

Team: Betsey and Tony
Dance: Foxtrot

She said last week was a disaster and she was embarrassed. She is up for a total visual and mental makeover. She said if she screws this up than she is done. This was a huge improvement over last week and she looked great and was having fun with it. A slower routine and he kept it safe, but she did well.

7.0 – Bruno said rebirth and revived glamour queen of the night.
7.0 – Julianne said it was a simple, elegant, beautiful and timeless.
7.0 – Len said last week was a night to forget and tonight is a night to remember.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said all hail Queen Betsey and she is exquisite and she danced beautifully.
Score: 28/40

Team: Antonio and Cheryl
Dance: Rumba

Cheryl said this is one of her favorite dances, but they are not going to base it on his good looks. He wants to do well, but she said it is a team effort. She was worried about doing the rumba at Week 2 because of it being so sensual, but they nailed it. Um, he was a soap star and he knows how to work it and he definitely did on Dancing with the Stars 2014 tonight!

8.0 – Bruno said the Latin lover is starting to smolder and he liked his top lines.
8.0 – Julianne said this was so much better and something about it was natural and the connection was beautiful.
7.0 – Len said don’t overanalyze these dances and just come out and enjoy it. You just have to be better than last week and he was.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said he was subtle and smooth and he was in his element, but watch the arm not in hold.
Score: 31/40

Team: Tommy and Peta
Dance: Salsa

They totally amazed me last week and I loved every second of it. Can they keep it up this week? They definitely kept it up and they are so entertaining. He was fun to watch and you gotta like them!

7.0 – Bruno said he has proven is a state of mind and you are young as you feel.
7.0 – Julianne said it was fun, fast, footwork was awesome and it was funny.
7.0 – Len said he was overdosed on fun and still working his assets.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said he rocked the bare chest. He is smooth and worked into the pockets of the salsa.
Score: 28/40

Team: Jonathan and Allison
Dance: Cha Cha

She said his sexiness comes across as fun and cooky, so she is trying to get that into a real sexy side. It was a good routine and she was really working it. His face was too serious, as he tried to get the sexy side of things.

8.0 – Bruno said he did it very well and the sharp, hard angles, but some elements were rushed.
8.0 – Julianne said they are very consistent and they have a lot of potential to grow in the season.
7.0 – Len said this was jerky and there was very little content in that cha cha.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said she loved seeing this side of him, but she felt there wasn’t enough cha cha.
Score: 30/40

Team: Sadie and Mark
Dance: Jazz

He said last week was a great night and she just flipped on the on switch. He said he has never choreographed a jazz routine to a country song. I loved them last week and loved them even more this week. They are so awesome and fun. They are having fun with it and it makes me enjoy watching them!

8.0 – Bruno said bright, young, fresh and that was great.
8.0 – Julianne said you can’t take your eyes off of her when she takes the dance floor and she is a natural performer.

8.0 – Carrie Ann said it was a little edgy and sexy and she got a little nervous, but she killed it.
Score: 31/40
