Here we go…we start with a hot performance by Jason Derulo and it is a great start! We meet the couples and let’s get this started!

Team: NeNe Leakes and Tony Dovolani
Dance: Paso Doble

She wants to bring personality to this show and wants to shake her bon-bon! Tony thinks she has enough energy for both of them. I was not sure about her, but I am liking her right now and she is working it! Is she a great dancer? Hell no, but this is Week 1 and she was having a blast and I like that. She is so tall too!

7.0 – Bruno said feels she has so much to give and we are just scratching the surface.
7.0 – Len said that is the way to get the party started. It was a buffet of all-you-can-eat fun and entertainment.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said she has a big personality and it shows on the dance floor. She is a big, voluptuous, beautiful woman and she needs to dance big and not dance small to match Tony.
Score: 21/30

Team: James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd
Dance: Foxtrot

Well, it looks like Peta and James went on a date before, but then James went on tour with Big Time Rush and they never talked again until he walked into the studio. Yup, a definite showmance going on here! Yeah, he had his struggles and needs to work on lines, but he is pretty and nice to look at on Dancing with the Stars 2014!

7.0 – Bruno said he likes that he put a lot of effort into the dance, but he needs to breath a little and make it look more effortless.
7.0 – Len said they are both there for a bit of eye candy for the ladies. He thought he did a good job. The footwork was a little messy and he needs to keep his frame in place, but he sold it.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said she is having a big time crush on him because he is so cute. He has natural elegance and he can do well with these ballroom dances.
Score: 21/30

Team: Danica McKellar and Val Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Foxtrot

She is a huge fan of the show and think Val is way cooler than her! He thinks they make a good couple and compliment each other. She said there is always something that has been a little girly forher and she wants to go on the journey of becoming a woman on this show. I think they could be a threat in this competition. She is still learning and has a good partner. She will grow on this one.

8.0 – Bruno said she is a very good actress and she played off him and sold it so well.
8.0 – Len said you don’t get a second chance at a first impression and she made a great first impression.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said she is so adorable and her enthusiasm for the dance takes it to another level.
Score: 24/30

Team: Sean Avery and Karina Smirnoff
Dance: Contemporary

Sean is a former NHL player and caused some uproar during his playing days. He was very outspoken and ticked off a lot of people. He seems like he could be a funny guy and a smartass and I like that! He was very stiff, but it worked at times for this routine. He was very serious and that worked too, but he will have to have more fun as the season goes on.

7.0 – Bruno said he is powerful, focused and connected and committed to what he does.
6.0 – Len said that was full of intensity and the lifts were terrific, but it needed some finesse here and there, but he did well.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said he is fascinating to watch, but he has to learn how to point his toes.
Score: 20/30

Team: Billy Dee Williams and Emma Slater
Dance: Cha Cha Cha

He thinks this is going to be a big challenge, but Emma thinks it will be fun. The man is 77 years old and has a lot going on with the age, but he is pushing through! These are the type of contestants you wonder why they are on the show, but then you want to root for too. he was slow and not the best, but he was trying and he is 77 years old!

5.0 – Bruno said he wants bigger and more powerful.
5.0 – Len said he was on time and didn’t forget his routine and it was entertaining, but needs to come out with more.
5.0 – Carrie Ann said he is the most laxed dancer she has ever seen, but needs more next week and it was too simple.
Score: 15/30

Team: Meryl Davis and Maks Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Cha Cha Cha

She is squaring off with her Olympic partner Charlie White. Maks wants to marry her, but wants to make sure Charlie and her are not dating. Derek Hough helped them out with their routines! Yeah, this is going to be a couple to watch this season! She is an amazing dancer, hence the gold medal, and we all love Maks. They are going to be in the finals for sure!

8.0 – Bruno said she is the queen of spins and what a debut.
8.0 – Len said she is nice on ice, but she is good on wood.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said that was exciting to watch and she lit up this ballroom.
Score: 24/30

Team: Candace Cameron Bure and Mark Ballas
Dance: Contemporary

She is best known for being on Full House, but loves to dance and that is why she is here. She is worried about not being Mark’s sexy girl and will probably be on the more modest, Mom side. The beginning of this dance was awesome with the camera shot above them and they continued it throughout. Very good routine and she could be strong this season too!

8.0 – Bruno said he was torn between ecstasy and torment. She uses the floor so well and she is a contemporary dancer.
8.0 – Len said she can dance and well done.
9.0 – Carrie Ann said she is such an incredible dancer and wants to work with her and is so ompressed!
Score: 25/30

Team: Cody Simpson and Witney Carson
Dance: Cha Cha Cha

Cody has a huge following online, so that could help his case while on Dancing with the Stars 2014. I loved, loved, loved Witney when she was on So You Think You Can Dance, so I am beyond excited to see her as a pro and not in the troupe on here! This was very entertaining and he has some moves in him! She is great and a fun routine and energetic!

8.0 – Bruno said he feels rejuvenated just watching them. Fresh and spunky, but watch his basics.
7.0 – Len said full of confidence and full of attack, but work on the technique.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said she feels really old. He is fantastic in the upper body, but his feet are all over and distracting.
Score: 22/30

Team: Drew Carey and Cheryl Burke
Dance: Foxtrot

He was happy to see his partner was Cheryl. He lost all this weight, but could do it before when bigger, so he wants to see doing it at a lower weight. He has some good moments in there and can dance, but he needs to keep his mouth shut! It was open the entire time, but he was fun to watch.

7.0 – Bruno said he has the style and content and did it with his personal touch.
7.0 – Len said that was very watchable and he enjoyed it from the first beat.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said every season there is someone that makes everyone smile and we just found that person.
Score: 21/30

Team: Amy Purdy and Derek Hough
Dance: Cha Cha Cha

She is a paralympic snowboarder. She has two prosthetic legs and has no idea what she is capable of doing as a dancer, but she is a snowboarder! Derek was nervous at first with what she can do. The odds are stacked against them, but he thinks Amy is someone that can beat those odds. This is beyond amazing to watch. How can you not root for her this season? She works it out and has some good dance moves and with prosthetics! It brought a little tear to my eye seeing it happen!

8.0 – Bruno wonders how she does it and it amazed.
8.0 – Len said she got a bronze medal in the Olympics and a gold medal tonight.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said she is shocked and has never seen anything like that and she is a beckon of light in this room.
Score: 24/30

Team: Diana Nyad and Henry Byalikov
Dance: Foxtrot

She is the first person to swim from Cuba to the Florida Keys! It took her five attempts, but she finally did it in 2013!  She said she is the #1 fan of the show. She doesn’t wear heels well and is having some issues with it, but like her swimming style, she is not giving up. This is another one of those routines on DWTS 2014 where she is not a dancer, but is having fun and makes it work. Not the best, but it is what the show is all about.

6.0 – Bruno said she didn’t quite find her footing, but she is selling it and going in the right direction.
6.0 – Len said it needs more finesse and left her ribcage. He wasn’t expecting it to be that good, so props to her.
6.0 – Carrie Ann said she is a slowly opening flower and watched her getting more comfortable as the song went on.
Score: 18/30

Team: Charlie White and Sharna Burgess
Dance: Contemporary

This is the other half of the Olympic dancers, so this should be a great routine. I am excited for Sharna to have a good partner this season and I am liking him. This was another great routine and he is good. There were moments where he seemed to be reaching out for her and he just needs to let it flow better, but so good!

9.0 – Bruno said he is an artist and the attention to detail for Week 1 is incredible.
9.0 – Len said this was a good dance for Week 1 and perfect dance for him.
9.0 – Carrie Ann said they are a perfect match and that was poetry in motion.
Score: 27/30
