The new season of Dancing with the Stars 2013 is about to kick off tonight and we are right here watching the Season 16 premiere with you as we take a look at the new cast takes the dance floor by storm and puts on a big show tonight on Dancing with the Stars Season 16! We have a wide variety of celebrities this year and some new professional dancers, so it will be interesting to see the new chemistries that are formed on DWTS 2013! Find out tonight during our Dancing with the Stars 2013 Recap and see how these 12 new celebrities perform!

DWTS 2013 Premiere

Of all the couples on DWTS Season 16, I would have to say my early favorite is Kellie Pickler and her professional partner Derek Hough. We all know that Derek usually does very well in the competition, even though Len Goodman is not a fan of his choreography at times. Kellie is always entertaining, so I am interested in seeing how she is on the dance floor.

The big announcement to the cast of DWTS Season 16 came last week after the completion of The Bachelor 2013. Rumors had been flying around and it was finally confirmed by Sean Lowe after the finale was over and done with. The big question on everyone’s mind will be: is Catherine Giudici going to be in the audience tonight? You know she will be….ABC probably have it in the contract with Sean!

The action starts up at 8/7c on ABC, so come back tonight for our Dancing with the Stars 2013 Recap and don’t miss a beat!

Team: Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough
Dance: Cha Cha

They say their rehearsals are fun and like a circus, so they might be the fun couple of the season. I love this girl! I am liking it and Kellie is holding her own out there and looks sexy and all get-up. A very solid performance for her first time!
7.0 – Bruno said that is the way we do it and the shapes of things to come.
7.0 – Len said yum, yum that was fun and great start to Season 16.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said that was fantastic and she has incredible torso movement, but work on keeping up.
Score: 21.0/30.0

Team: Victor Ortiz and Lindsay Arnold
Dance: Fox Trot

This is our first new professional dancer of the season and it is Lindsay, who was on So You Think You Can Dance last summer! He thought he was going to be strong because of his boxing, but the rehearsals have him worried. It is a decent dance, but I think Lindsay looks a little nervous out there too, so who knows. It was an alright performance.
6.0 – Bruno said what a wonderful combination of boyish charm and Latino passion.
6.0 – Len said it was a little uneventful for him, but knock his socks off next week.
6.0 – Carrie Ann said his posture was great and open and he sparkles.
Score: 18.0/30.0

Team: Ingo Rademacher and Kym Johnson
Dance: Contemporary

One of the new dances this season is the contemporary, which I am a huge fan of, but will the ballroom fans of DWTS 2013 like it? It is a good performance, but I think it will be hard to compare the ballroom style dances with the contemporary dances. They are just so different, but what do you think?
7.0 – Bruno said that was good and the lifts were difficult to do and very good.
6.0 – Len said he is not convinced about that performance and he wants to see dance. Len is not a fan of contemporary that is for sure!
7.0 – Carrie Ann said it was very raw and passionate and they did a great job.
Score: 20.0/30.0

Team: Lisa Vanderpump and Gleb Savchenko
Dance: Fox Trot

Gleb is a new dancer this season and he is looking very good without his shirt on! Lisa is worried about getting so up close and personal with him, but I think she’ll survive. Lisa is the kind of dancer we want to see on these shows, right? She struggles through the dance, but she is trying and can tell she does better than we all expect! They end it with a kiss, so that shyness went away! I am surprised at how much she feels guilty getting close to Gleb while dancing!
6.0 – Bruno said there is a lot of things that need to be smoothed out and press your hips against him for more body contact.
6.0 – Len said it was acceptable, but not exceptional and too much staggering going on.
6.0 – Carrie Ann said it was easy on the eyes, but she needs to get her feet under her.
Score: 18.0/30.0

Team: D.L. Hughley and Cheryl Burke
Dance: Cha Cha

I think this is another couple that bring the laughs this season on DWTS 2013 and I like them already. The dancing though is not that enjoyable! He is way too stiff and needs to loosen up and have some fun out there. Cheryl is struggling with him, but not much she can do!
4.0 – Bruno said he has terminated the Cha Cha. The problem is timing and it looked like it wasn’t rehearsed enough.
4.0 – Len said this was rough and he has to work his butt off for next week and this was no good!
4.0 – Carrie Ann said that was yikes and he has to practice harder for next week.
Score: 12.0/30.0

Team: Zendaya Coleman and Val Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Contemporary

Zendaya is the youngest in the competition this season on Dancing with the Stars 2013 since she is only 16 years old, so will that make it weird dancing with Val. You know him and Kelly Monaco were banging last season! I like this routine and I think they could be a strong team this season, but it is hard to tell with contemporary. It is such a modern dance and who knows when it comes to ballroom how she will do.
8.0 – Bruno said sweet 16 and superb debut on Dancing with the Stars and he can’t wait to see more from her.
8.0 – Len said that was great.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said that was amazingly beautiful and she is a fantastic dancer.
Score: 24.0/30.0

Team: Sean Lowe and Peta Murgatroyd
Dance: Fox Trot

I guess this is his prep in order to not embarrass Catherine Giudici on their first dance at their wedding. I think that is going to the extreme, but we shall see. You can see he is trying real hard, but he is goofy and too stiff as well. He looks cute out there, but he needs to loosen up some out there! And of course Catherine is in the audience!
6.0 – Bruno said for a dance virgin he has a very good pelvic thrust, but he needs to refine.
6.0 – Len said he liked certain parts of it, but it lacked finesse and no real quality of movement, but his posture was good.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said he has a fearless exuberance and that will take him far on Dancing with the Stars Season 16.
Score: 19.0/30.0

Team: Aly Raisman and Mark Ballas
Dance: Cha Cha

Aly has had the same coach her whole life being a gold medal gymnast, so it is hard for her to take guidance from Mark, but she think he is a great coach. I am a little shocked by this one. I think I am used to Shawn Johnson doing so well on the show, but she was not as strong as I thought she would be, but she did well.
7.0 – Bruno said she can shake it like the best and really good Cha Cha
7.0 – Len said the rhythm and feel was good, but her legs have to be a little crisper.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said she sees a lot of potential and she is not afraid to go out there, but don’t be so safe.
Score: 21.0/30.0

Team: Dorothy Hamill and Tristan MacManus
Dance: Contemporary

Now to the other Olympic gold medalist in the competition! Dorothy is a breast cancer survivor and was inspired by Kristi Yamaguchi during her season. I think this is going to be such a hard dance style to judge and watch this season for me. Contemporary is one of my favorite styles of dance on SYTYCD, but those are good dancers and these stars struggle too much for me!
7.0 – Bruno said deeply felt and deep connection with Tristan.
7.0 – Len said he loved the gentleness of it and such a beautiful dance.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said that performance was just golden and she told a story and heartfelt.
Score: 21.0/30.0

Team: Wynonna Judd and Tony Dovolani
Dance: Cha Cha

For the past seven months she has been taking care of her husband, who suffered an accident and lost a leg. This is her time to do something for her and shake her moneymaker! I’m not gonna lie…I had a smile on my face the whole time this performance was going on! She has such a great personality and I think people will vote for that. She had sass and was having fun and it was infectious. She did not move the fastest, but for her first performance I loved it! And the Judds were in the audience!
6.0 – Bruno said her timing was good and steps were placed, but she was a bit casual and he wants her to deliver large!
6.0 – Len said it was a little be careful, but she came out and did a good performance.
6.0 – Carrie Ann said she thought she was working it and she has her own style, but she can give it a little more.
Score: 18.0/30.0

Team: Andy Dick and Sharna Burgess
Dance: Fox Trot

He is sober and said this is his biggest chance he has right now and she can make him her bitch! He breaks down during rehearsals and is afraid to be bad for her and them. He is awkward in parts, but he has some good parts and I am impressed by him. Not a great dancer, but he has moments and I like that!
6.0 – Bruno said it was like watching Woody Allen do the Fox Trot. There is a long way to go, but he really enjoyed it.
5.0 – Len said the choreography was nice and there were moments of sophistication in it.
6.0 – Carrie Ann said there is something quite charming about him and he touched her with that dance.
Score: 17.0/30.0

Team: Jacoby Jones and Karina Smirnoff
Dance: Cha Cha

I guess we save the Super Bowl champion for the last dancer of the night on Dancing with the Stars 2013. He had surgery on his knee and could not rehearse until one week before the premiere, so they are behind schedule here! He is in it to win it and wants to add the mirrorball trophy to the Super Bowl trophy. With only one real week to prepare, these two knocked it out of the park. Football players always do well on this show and Jacoby might continue that trend. They had great chemistry together and he has a strong first performance and has some moves under his belt!
7.0 – Bruno said he has the potential to be Season 16 Steaming Sex Machine. He does have to work on his foot placement though, but he has the goods!
6.0 – Len said it was all icing and no cake. It was all performance, but no technique.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said Jacoby has the moves and it was a medley of touchdown dances.
Score: 20.0/30.0
