For the first time this season, Dancing with the Stars 2013 goes back to the old format and we will have two nights of Dancing with the Stars Season 17, but only because it is time for the finals! The remaining four couples will perform for our votes tonight on DWTS 2013, but at the end of the show another couple will be eliminated! The remaining three couples will perform one more time tomorrow night and those points will be added to the points tonight and the votes from America to find out who won Dancing with the Stars 2013! Check out the performances tonight with us during our Dancing with the Stars 2013 Recap and see who got eliminated on Dancing with the Stars 2013 tonight!

AMBER RILEY, DEREK HOUGH

Last week on DWTS Season 17, the couples performed two routines, but to the same song. One dance was to the regular version of the song and the second performance was to an acoustic version of the same song. It put pressure on the couples to interpret the same song, but in different ways! Despite the fact that Bill Engvall and Emma Slater were on the bottom of the leaderboard yet again, somehow they survived the elimination and instead, Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani were sent home!

Tonight we get three routines from the couples on Dancing with the Stars 2013 and another couple is eliminated at the end of the show. We made our predictions earlier, so check those out while we wait for our recap, which will be starting soon!

WARNING: DANCING WITH THE STARS 2013 SPOILERS AHEAD!

The following post contains videos from tonight’s performances on DWTS 2013 Finals. Don’t want to know who went home on Dancing with the Stars Season 17 tonight? Then don’t look ahead!!!

*****************************************************************

Here we go…as promised, we kick things off with a performance by Season 16 winner Kellie Pickler. She sings her new single “Little Bit Gypsie.” I just love this woman and she is so pretty. I am so glad she won with Derek Hough last season and can he repeat this season with Amber Riley???

Round 1 – Judges’ Pick

Team: Bill Engvall and Emma Slater
Dance: Viennese Waltz

Len Goodman comes in and talks to them. He received three 8’s from the judges on this dance, which was his highest score of the season. They think he can do better with this dance, so they want to see it. This is one of those dances where they look good, but because Emma looks good doing it. He just follows her around and twirls her around. I am going to be very bitter watching them perform tonight!

8.0 – Bruno said we all love him because he is so genuine. He tried incredibly hard, but his time keeps going on and off.
8.0 – Len said he did see fluidity in the arms and that was an improvement, but he lost the timing at times.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said he has played his own game the whole season and every week he comes back. Still smiling and still enjoying his performances.
Score: 24/30

Team: Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff
Dance: Quickstep

Len thought this dance was too frantic the first time they did it. He comes in to help them out during rehearsals and he wants to see Corbin competing for that Mirror Ball in the final three. This was also the dance where Corbin wore those pants that we could see it all and that juicy booty! I am not complaining and he gets a 10 from me!

9.0 – Bruno said talk about racing around. The footwork was very complicated and it is hard to keep it in sync the whole time.
9.0 – Len said last time it was hectic and they calmed it down this time and more control, but his left arm started flying around at times.
9.0 – Carrie Ann said she did not see an improvement. It did not get tighter, but it did not get worse.
Score: 27/30

Team: Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke
Dance: Jive

They said making it to the finals would be winning for them. Jack now says they are there, so why is it not possible to win? Bruno comes in to help during rehearsals. He said Jack has been a revelation. He tells him to have the kicks come from the knees. I enjoy this dance and enjoy Jack. The kicks looked good to me!

8.0 – Bruno said the kicks and flicks were good, but the timing went out the window. His transformation has been incredible.
8.0 – Len said he lost it early on and it took a while to get it back, but he has two dances to come back strong with.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said she thought it was a 10 the first time, but not this time. She did see improvement though.
Score: 24/30

Team: Amber Riley and Derek Hough
Dance: Charleston

Carrie Ann comes in and said they were out of sync on this dance and need to be more precise with this dance. She needs to show some improvement with these routines tonight in order to win Dancing with the Stars 2013. I loved this the first time they did it and love it even more tonight. It looked perfect to me and in sync, so work it out! They finish and get a hug from Carrie Ann, so that is good, huh?

10.0 – Bruno said her footwork was as sharp as a razor blade tonight!
10.0 – Len said this is the most improved by far.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said she is so proud of her and she completely topped herself and they were so in sync.
Score: 30/30

Round 2 – Samba Relay

This is a chance to see the four couples dance side-by-side and will earn points from the judges. They all will be dancing to “No Scrubs” by TLC, who is performing it live. They draw for their order and it is Jack & Cheryl, Amber & Derek, Bill & Emma and then Corbin & Karina. The judges will be looking for their performances on the stage, but then the transitions with the other couples on and off the stage.

This was such a fun dance and relay. Bill & Emma clearly looked outmatched on this one. Jack & Cheryl looked good, as did Corbin & Karina, but I would give this one to Amber & Derek. Len Goodman said one was a little bit careful, one lacked a little bit of rhythm, one was close, but not quite and one absolutely nailed it.

Points:

  • 5 – Corbin & Karina
  • 4 – Amber & Derek
  • 3 – Jack & Cheryl
  • 2 – Bill & Emma

Round 3 – Supersized Freestyle

Team: Bill Engvall and Emma Slater
They are going for an Indiana Jones-type routine and Emma said she is giving him the chance to be Harrison Ford. They are putting some tricks in there, but he is worried about his groin and not being able to do the trick and hurt Emma. They threw in some tricks, but it was nothing special. I know Kellie and Derek broke it down last season, but Bill & Emma needed to throw out all the stops on this one and brings out backup dancers and all.

8.0 – Bruno said it was insanely good fun.
9.0 – Len said he has not lost the ability to entertain. He always puts his own little quirks into it and he enjoyed that performance.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said he is the every man’s man who became a dancing hero.
Score: 25/30 and a total of 51 for the night

Team: Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff
Karina said if they throw in extra dancers than they must not overpower them. They are channeling Michael Jackson for this routine and Corbin does not want backup dancers and they can handle it on their own. They head to Vegas and work with Michael Jackson’s choreographer. Karina is now inspired to add a few dancers to pull off a huge trick. Corbin is afraid they will get hurt. I think they did an awesome routine and it was very entertaining. Corbin even looked like Michael at times.

10.0 – Bruno said they got some classic Michael moves with some amazing ballroom touches and it was magic.
10.0 – Len gives them a standing ovation.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said they nailed it and you showed the respect for Michael.
Score: 30/30 and a total of 62 for the night!

Team: Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke
Cheryl said he has come from no dance background and this freestyle will show how far he has come. She said winning the Mirror Ball is going to come down to this freestyle and it has tricks and lifts. He said this is the biggest task he has had to take on. I think this was a wise choice by Cheryl for them and it showed off his ballroom skills. He was entertaining and I wish him the best for this one!

10.0 – Bruno said hooray for Hollywood and hooray for Jack. It was tailored for perfection!
10.0 – Len said he family should be so proud of him. He is proud of him and that was a true showstopper.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said that was a showstopper and an ending fitting for a king!
Score: 30/30 and a total of 57 for the night!

Team: Amber Riley and Derek Hough
Derek was struggling with coming up with a routine and could not get inspiration. He then remembered back in the day and her stepping, so they are going to do some stepping for this routine, which Derek has never done before. They are bringing in backup dancers, but he thinks she can hold her own. Typical Derek, but this was amazing! The choreography was amazing and the focal point was Amber and I loved it!

10.0 – Bruno said she is a leading lady. Star power, charisma and no one could take their eyes off you.
10.0 – Len said the whole number was just about her. She is out there with six pros and he only looked at her.
10.0 – Carrie Ann said those were some fierce dancers out there with her and she was in control of them the whole time!
Score: 30/30 and a total of 64 for the night!

The dancing is done for the night and only three of the finalists will move on to tomorrow night to compete in one more dance. Time to pick the 24 Hour Fusion Dances for tomorrow:

  • Amber & Derek get Samba and Quickstep
  • Corbin & Karina get Cha Cha and Foxtrot
  • Jack & Cheryl get Paso and Salsa
  • Bill & Emma get Jive and Quickstep

Time for the results on Dancing with the Stars 2013 and these are the three safe couples tonight:
