The couples have been rehearsing for a couple weeks now and it is time for them to show what they have learned in the ballroom tonight on Dancing with the Stars 2013. We have 12 new couples starting out on Dancing with the Stars Season 17 and all of them want the season to end with them holding the Mirror Ball Trophy. It can only happen for one of the couples, but who wins DWTS 2013? We have a long ways to go to find that out, but the journey starts tonight during our Dancing with the Stars 2013 Live Recap and see the DWTS Season 17 performances begin!

Dancing with the Stars 2013 Spoilers - Premiere

The Dancing with the Stars Season 17 cast is a mix bag for me, as I like some and am excited to some of them, but then others just annoy me or I don’t even know who they are! I still get angry that they call this Dancing with the Stars when I have to Google some of the cast to figure out who they are!

Remember, we are only down to one night for DWTS 2013, so the performances and results will all come on one night, starting next week. It seems crazy, but do we need an hour of wasted time on Tuesdays? We all save an hour of our lives and still get the Dancing with the Stars 2013 results we want and need! Let’s get it started with our Live Recap starting soon!

The following post contains videos from tonight’s performances on DWTS 2013 Premiere. Don’t want to see them yet then don’t look ahead!!!

Here we go…a fun and energetic opening number from everyone involved in the show, including Tom Bergeron and the judges! Let’s get this started!

Team: Brant Daugherty and Peta Murgatroyd
Dance: Cha Cha

Peta is nervous to meet him because she heard he is cute (and he is)! They meet and she wants his shirt off right away and none of us are complaining! She asks if he is single and that is a yes! So, the routine is not bad, especially for Week 1 on Dancing with the Stars Season 17. He has a smile that will win him plenty of votes! The dancing is good and will only get better, so good for them!

7.0 – Bruno said very hot stuff and very easy on the eyes. That was a sizzling teaser of things yet to come.
8.0 – Len said that was fabulous!
7.0 – Carrie Ann said he has a lot of potential and they look great together and this chemistry is going to be fun to watch!
Score: 22.0/30.0

Team: Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani
Dance: Fox Trot

She comes in and said she doesn’t know how to dance and needs to lose weight. Tony said she needs to stop judging herself and she is actually good. I love this lady and think she will be my favorite of the season! Was she the best? No, but she had some moves in there! They move slow, but again, for Week 1 it was good. And we see a Jennifer Lopez sighting in the crowd.

7.0 – Bruno said very surprising turn for someone who has never done it before.
7.0 – Len said it was a little careful in places, but it was clean and precise and she did a terrific job tonight.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said she is sass and class and that is a great combination, but extend the arms more.
Score: 21.0/30.0

Team: Corbin Bleu and Karina Smirnoff
Dance: Contemporary

Karina was wanting Corbin as her partner, so they were both excited to see each other. Corbin starred in High School Musical and did some dancing on that, so does he have a hands up here? I love me a good contemporary routine and this was a good contemporary routine. He has some skills and it shows in this dance. He should be around a long time on Dancing with the Stars 2013.

8.0 – Bruno said strong, powerful and athletic, yet a strong touch and he has passion.
8.0 – Len said the standard so far has been fantastic and that was full-on and their lifts were excellent.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said that was beautiful and passionate and they flowed emotion.
Score: 24.0/30.0

Team: Jack Osbourne and Cheryl Burke
Dance: Fox Trot

Jack’s sister, Kelly Osbourne, participated in Dancing with the Stars Season 9 and will we have some sibling rivalry here? He says she is way better than him! He is doing this to bring awareness to MS, which he was diagnosed with last year. I have to say, I have been impressed by the stars so far tonight. They haven’t been amazing, but they haven’t been bad either! Good job, Jack! His mom, Sharon Osbourne, is in the audience and we have tears from her and Ozzy is with her!

7.0 – Bruno said joyful, playful and uplifting. Watch your turns, but the footwork was good.
8.0 – Len said you can dance and he was fabulous and good posture!
8.0 – Carrie Ann said Mama Bear should be so proud of her son and he is a ballroom dancer and that was nothing but class!
Score: 23.0/30.0

Team: Amber Riley and Derek Hough
Dance: Cha Cha

Amber is another one I want to see perform this season. She is a theater kid, but never really danced. She said ballroom is out of her comfort zone because you have to be serious and she never takes herself seriously. I got chills from this performance on DWTS 2013 and you show it all off for the big girls out there. This was awesome!

9.0 – Bruno said she is the tigress of Season 17.
9.0 – Len said Week 1 and she comes out and dances like that. Full-on!
9.0 – Carrie Ann just went nuts and talked gibberish.
Score: 27.0/30.0

Team: Elizabeth Berkley and Val Chmerkovskiy
Dance: Contemporary

Val said he learned English watching Saved by the Bell. She then starred in Showgirls and she shut down dancing because it was a difficult time in her life. Now she wants to reconnect with dancing and what she loves to do. I’m not gonna lie: is this Week 1 of DWTS Season 17? These dancers have some moves tonight!

8.0 – Bruno said the original showgirl is back and she means business. Extend her arms more and she has wings and she can fly.
8.0 – Len said it was lovely and just lovely to watch.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said she was gorgeous and passionate angel and this showcased her in a beautiful way.
Score: 24.0/30.0

Team: Bill Nye and Tyne Stecklein
Dance: Cha Cha

While we have had a great start to DWTS 2013, that might change right here! And Tyne is a new pro dancer this season and she might not get much exposure! To be honest, this routine is exactly as you expect on a premiere of DWTS. Not great, but he clearly is not a dancer either!

5.0 – Bruno said he had all the elements in there, but they were all over and not gel.
4.0 – Len said it was like being waxed and painful when it was going on and lovely when it was over.
5.0 – Carrie Ann said he is the type of dancer that makes Dancing with the Stars special and he made people smile.
Score: 14.0/30.0

Team: Keyshawn Johnson and Sharna Burgess
Dance: Cha Cha

Maybe ABC put all the good dancers at the start to keep us interested? Keyshawn is making this a rough one, but those gold pants on Sharna make this interesting though. This is rough and Keyshawn said the guys at ESPN say they’ll be seeing him in two weeks and they might be right!

6.0 – Bruno said he has the moves, but he has to keep on the timing.
5.0 – Len said this was a mix of attitude and technique. He has the positive attitude and now needs to work on the techniques.
6.0 – Carrie Ann said the beginning was stiff, but once he got the hips moving he got into it.
Score: 17.0/30.0

Team: Christina Milian and Mark Ballas
Dance: Contemporary

Christina is a performer, but has never danced with a performer and feels people will be expecting more from her. She says Mark’s choreography is crazier than anything she has ever done before. These contemporary routines are hot tonight and done so well. She should not have been worried because she nailed it!

8.0 – Bruno said he loved the intensity and sometimes she has to remember her hands.
7.0 – Len said this dance really suited her and he wants to see her come out.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said she moves beautifully and she is better than she thinks she is, but she needs to open up more.
Score: 22.0/30.0

Team: Bill Engvall and Emma Slater
Dance: Fox Trot

Emma has been on the troupe for three years and now she has made it to the pros! Bill knows he won’t be a professional dancer, but he wants to be the redneck’s dancing king. Another performance where on any other opening night it would be considered good, but it seems average tonight on Dancing with the Stars 2013.

Bill and Emma – Foxtrot – Dancing with the Stars by televisionpromos

6.0 – Bruno said he felt something, but did not know what it was, but he felt something.
6.0 – Len said Week 1 is about remembering the routine and he did that. It needed more fluidity, but he did it.
6.0 – Carrie Ann said she was happily surprised and he has good frame.
Score: 18.0/30.0

Team: Valerie Harper and Tristan MacManus
Dance: Fox Trot

She was diagnosed with terminal cancer earlier this year and told she had three months to live. Well, I guess that was not true, huh? She loves dancing and this is her dream of getting out there to dance in front of people. You could see the joy in her eyes and on her face while she danced. I can say nothing bad about this routine and hope I can move like that when I am 72 years old.

Valerie and Tristan – Foxtrot – Dancing with… by televisionpromos

7.0 – Bruno said she is an inspiration to the nation and she was radiant and stylish and light on her feet.
7.0 – Len said there was an ease and an elegance to it and beautifully done.
7.0 – Carrie Ann said she needs to work on her spots, but she brought her to tears with her courage.
Score: 21.0/30.0

Team: Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Sasha Farber
Dance: Cha Cha

Snooki wants to show the world she is not a hot mess like she was on Jersey Shore since she became a Mom. Well, the video package before makes her look like the same Snooki and a hot mess, but then she comes out on the dance floor and does well. I am impressed, but someone that tiny is easy to fling around on the dance floor right?

7.0 – Bruno said she did it well and loves her legs.
8.0 – Len said he loved her footwork and she worked beautifully on that set.
8.0 – Carrie Ann said she just went for it and she loves when people just go for it.
Score: 23.0/30.0
