American Idol Las Vegas 2013 - Top 10 Guys

Last night on American Idol Las Vegas 2013, it was all about the ladies and they tried to impress America, which a lot of them did really well and it will be tough to cut the number in half.

Could judge Randy Jackson hinted at something last night, as he said they need a wild card because there was so much talent last night. Hmmm, it has been rumored, but I doubt it will happen. There aren’t enough weeks left before the American Idol 2013 Finale to get rid of more singers, unless they do double eliminations? But tonight there is no talk of the eliminations or the wild card or the finale, as we are only focusing on these ten guys that are trying to sing their way into the Top 10 on American Idol Season 12, so sit back and watch with us!

Don’t want to know what happened on the American Idol Las Vegas 2013 Live Recap for the Top 10 Guys? Then don’t read ahead!

Here we go…same thing, different night. Meet the American Idol judges 2013, meet the Top 10 Guys and then babble with the judges on what they are looking for and then finally get to a performance on American Idol Las Vegas 2013.

Elijah Liu: He sings “Stay” by Rihanna. Apparently he thinks he is some womanizer, thanks to judge Nicki Minaj. He talks about them out there screaming for him and hoping they vote for him. I actually like this song and think it is done well. It is a little boring, in just that it never goes anywhere and pretty even-toned, but I enjoyed it.

Cortez Shaw: He sings “Locked Out Of Heaven” by Bruno Mars. Apparently Cortez is trying to prove that he can be a current and hip artist, as he sings a current song for the second week in a row. This time around though I think he fell a little short. I think this song is Bruno Mars and someone else trying to cover it is too much for me to handle. He doesn’t do that great and has a weird sound to his voice.

Charlie Askew: He sings “Mama” by Genisis. Well, he has his hair pulled back in a ponytail, has some weird earring and wearing a tank top. Will Nicki comment on his style? The rock song fit his voice a little better, but this guy is just awkward and weird to me and does not deserve to be here. Do you agree? The judges were not impressed and he looks like he is going to cry and now I feel bad for him. He tells Ryan he keeps that smile because he feels he has to and I want to give him a hug. Did he just win over a ton of votes with that speech?

Nick Boddington: He sings “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls. He was trying to show American that he could connect with the song. To do so, he sits down at the piano and sings a song he has been singing for years. This guy has a solid voice and does well with this song. Does he have the appeal that America would vote for though on American Idol Las Vegas 2013?

Burnell Taylor: He sings “I’m Here” from The Color Purple. Well, this was his audition song and to me that means he can’t sing anything else. People loved this performance, but do we have to see it again so soon? I think it shows a lack of his ability to sing a new song every week, if he makes the Top 10 on American Idol Season 12. What do you think? Keith loved it and gave him a standing ovation.

Paul Jolley: He sings “Just A Fool” by Christina Aguilera featuring Blake Shelton. The funny thing is that he sounds a whole lot like Blake in this song. I think he is one of the better singers for the guys on American Idol Las Vegas 2013. This was very solid and he just sang. He is a good-looking guy and I think he will gain a lot of votes tonight from both the girls and boys!

Lazaro Arbos: He sings “Feeling Good” by Michael Buble. I love this song, so he won me over right away. He looked so much more comfortable on the stage and like he was meant for this. I am back to being a fan of Lazaro and this was beyond amazing. What is up with him wearing pink all the time though? It seems like it is every week, but you work the pink Lazaro!

Curtis Finch, Jr.: He sings “I Believe I Can Fly” by R Kelly. Maybe it is the fact that I find this boy to be very annoying and arrogant. It also is the fact that Joshua Ledet from American Idol Season 11 annoyed me too and Curtis reminds me of him. I think he just hits the big notes and screams and it is too much for a performance. Send him home America!

Devin Velez: He sings “It’s Impossible” by Perry Como. I’ll admit this about Devin: when he breaks out into the Spanish he sounds way better. Maybe it is because I have no clue what he is even singing, but it sounds good! I know Spanish is a huge language, but for American Idol I feel he should sing only in English. Am I bad for saying that?

Vincent Powell: He sings “End of the Road” by Boyz II Men. I feel Vincent is a version of Joshua Ledet and Curtis Finch, Jr. that I actually handle and enjoy. He does the whole runs and screams and preaching, but to me his version is so much better. This guy can sing and it is a good show that he puts on when he performs.
