American Idol 2015 Spoilers - Top 9 Performances

Last week on American Idol Season 14, the contestants were taking on songs from the movies and it seemed like Harry was not impressed with the performances for the week. Ryan Seacrest named the contestants moving on to next week one at a time. When all was said and done, it was Qaasim Middleton on the bottom and in danger of going home. He performed for the Judges’ Save and Harry said it was by far the best performance of the night and that led to the judges using their save and no one went home!

Our recap is starting soon, including videos of the performances, so stay right here for American Idol 2015 tonight! In the meantime, check out our predictions on who we think goes home tonight!

Here we go…we have everyone in place and then David Hasselhoff brings out the results for the week and then proceeds to perform??? This is awkward. We have 80’s Night tonight, as the Top 9 will be performing song from the 1980’s and they’ll get help from Boy George. The Top 11 then take the stage and perform with Boy George and it is a hot mess! Now to the results and who is performing tonight!

Daniel Seavey – He sings “You Make My Dreams” by Hall & Oates. Ugh, why do people keep voting him through??? He was born in 1999, so 80’s Night seems fitting for him, right? This performance was pitchy and all over the place. I feel like he was hitting puberty during this performance, as his voice was shaky and breaking in and out.

Quentin Alexander – He sings “In The Air Tonight” by Phil Collins. Harry said he is always taking risks on stage, but can he match it with technique and sing in tune? I am so torn on this one. I am a fan of Quentin, but he sounded weird at times on this one. He had this weird sound to his voice and how he sang certain notes, but then he sounded great at other times. I still love him!

Joey Cook – She sings “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper. She definitely has the 80s look going strong tonight with this one. She has that weird sound to her voice and it did not work with this song. I am a fan of her, but it is the original song with her weird tone and I was annoyed.

Tyanna Jones – She sings “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston. Taking on any Whitney song is hard, but this is one of the safer options. I love seeing Tyanna up there and having a good time and working it with the crowd. She has such control over her voice and she hits some big notes on this one and I liked it!

Jax – She sings “You Give Love A Bad Name” by Bon Jovi. This was different, as we heard a female singing this popular male song. I love Jax when she keeps it calm, but I don’t think she can. It starts good and she has good moments throughout it, but those hard rock moments are too much for me to handle.

Nick Fradiani – He sings “Man In The Mirror” by Michael Jackson. Jennifer said he needs to own this song and sing it to someone special. I love this song, so I am intrigued to hear Nick sing it. I really want to like Nick, but he never does anything that makes me like him. He always sings well, but it is never amazing. It always seems safe and I get bored.

We take a break from the performances, as Salt-n-Pepa takes the stage to perform “Push It” and I am in love! This is a classic and such a good song, so work it everyone on American Idol 2015! And now back to the results and performances!

Clark Beckham – He sings “Every Breath You Take” by The Police. During rehearsals, Boy George suggests lowering the key and having more to work with and Clark agrees, but then goes back to the original before taking the stage tonight. Did it matter? Clark nails everything he tackles and he is such a good singer. Love this performance and love this guy!

Qaasim Middleton – He sings “Addicted To Love” by Robert Palmer. He earned the save from the judges last week and now America voted him through this week, so it worked! He said he is a vocalist and he is going to show that tonight. To be honest, he did show off his vocals tonight and it was a little rough in parts, but I did enjoy it. Regardless, Qassim is so fun and fun to watch and I liked it.

That leaves us with Maddie Walker, Adanna Duru and Rayvon Owen as the final three singers. Two will be going home and one will move on to the Top 9. Who do you think it will be??? The bottom three take the stage and the finale contestant in the Top 9 is:

Rayvon Owen – He sings “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” by Tears for Fears. I do like Rayvon and I like his voice and his great range. For me, it did not work on this song choice and I just didn’t feel his normal sound. I was a little disappointed with him and with a lot of the performances tonight!

With that being said, the two contestants eliminated tonight are Maddie Walker and Adanna Duru. What do you think of the results and performances tonight?
